Hello, guys. I am doing a transmission rebuild and I have a 1g tranny for parts to go into a 2g tranny. I noticed that the viscous coupler is smaller in the 1g tranny so can you please tell me which one is better and can I use the 1g VC into the 2g tranny

After digging dome more here is what I found out.

The transmission with the small VC is from a non turbo AWD 1g. Those are very rare models produced for snowy countries like Sweden, Finland (maybe Canada as well). It is the same as 1g Turbo AWD except for:
1. front differential
2. center differential
3. viscous coupler
4. 1st speed
5. input shaft

I gues 2 is connected to 3 and 4 is connected to 5.

So i need info on this tranny especially on the center and front dif ratios. Also - can anyone tell me what is the drivetrain balance between front and rear wheels on a 2g AWD car? Is it 50:50?

Here are the specs of both transmissions I have. I am taking the first gear from the NA tranny and if the center diff along with the VC are better :)

1st collum has 5x vr4 gears, but Evo 1,2,3 Primary, Secondary & Rear Diff
It might be what is in the AMG VR4 NA AWD. AMG has 260/264 cams btw
2st collum is a std 2g awd mt

Thank you for that info. Just to make it clear - are those numbers the ones of the transmission that I have or from a VR4 tranny which seems to be the closest to mine?
 
By checking a list of gearing I have, it showed up as 5x vr4 gears.
You gave me the final drive of the 1st collum as 5.443
Primary x Secondary = Final drive.
So they are 1.275 - 37/29 & 4.260 - 64/15
Strange thing is the primary & secondary are from Evo 1,2,3 boxes

Today I checked the VC and the bigger one is stiffer. I used a leverage in the center's diff holes and a useless output shaft which was locked. Then I put the VC and put some weight on the lever. The smaller VC let the weight go down faster so I gues I am changing the center diff cases and will use the bigger (turbo) one.
