i just baught a 90 tsi awd. apparently its "bored" to 2.1 although i beleive it got mixed up and it could be stroked. i know it has ross pistons and apr studs etc.

550cc injectos
tial bov
stock smic
hard upper piping
td05h turbo ( big 16g apparently? )

the problom is, My boost guage a) reads 20 psi real quick, i beleive the crappy boost controler he made is crap. and it may be over boosting.
but i want your opinions.

it has a 255lph pump, but it burnt out and the stock one is in it now, im thinking this may be the problom possibly looseing fuel pressure? i have a regulator, but if the fuel pump cant keep up then maybe?
just did plugs, wires etc.
really only happens in 1st and 2nd gear, not really in 3rd it pulls nice 3rd on from what ive seen, although i havent been complete wot.

i havent done a boost leak test but im thinking perhaps,
it has a 2g maf also.

is this of any help?
the car also sat for a few years, and stale gas was in it. i toped up with 94 octaine.

i took the whole pipeing appart lastnight and sealed it all tight since i cant do a blt yet. so it shouldent leak as of now. if it does its from the side mount.

it seems a bit better today but i cant really drive it far and give it a good run since im borrowing a dealer plate until its on the road.

it has a 2g maft. could that be a problom?
no shaft play on turbo at all, no oil coming out of it..

if it helps, i just got the car the baterry was dead. is it possible dsm link forgot the tune? all the sliders are at 0 besides the maft one. fuel and timeing all 0, not getting any knock tho. i gave it a run and the most i saw was 0.4 degrees.

it has 550 injectors in it, so im thinking it either needs the proper fuel pump, or the tune is gone. if it is, i really dont know enough to get it back up to being right. just slowly adjust sliders i suspose?
 
550s on a stock 1g pump using an afpr that was set for the 255...sounds like fuel cut to me. I suggest setting the afpr to stock pressure which should help. Also, the car is running both Maft and Link? Is it V2? Are you sure of all the mods to this car yet?
 
Its got base pressure of 37 when its on, but im not sure if it drops on demand when i get into it. regs under the hood,
its got the 2g maft, ( cone filter to 2g maft > turbo inlet )
im not sure of all of them, Im told ross pistons, 2.1, link v2, greddy bov, hard upper piping i was told he thinks it has bigger cams but there pretty smooth to me.

Im just not sure when i look at dsm link, it still has the calculations tab set for 550 injectors with the base pressure im useing, although the timeing sliders and fuel are all at 0. ( flatlined ), as well as almost everything elce.
