Hey guys ive recently picked up a 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. When i got the car out of Vancouver the flywheel was loose so i pulled it home took it all apart, slammed a new flywheel and bolts so i put it all together and i had no reverse first or second. Reverse seems like something is blocking it i cant even get it into the reverse position. So I pulled it apart for a second time, come to find out i had a broken shifter fork. So i bought a new one put it all together. So now i can get third fourth and fifth and no first and second or reverse. I read many other forums on people experiencing similar problems and most got away with tightening the linkage bracket. I checked mine and all seems to be fine, but something i notice is i have a lot of left to right slop even when I'm in gear. I found it odd reverse wont go into its position at all like its in a bind. so pretty much I'm a stop here lost as to where to go from here. i tried putting it into reverse with the car off still seems like its blocked from going in, its my only car at the moment so i really need to get it going any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks, James

I had it completely apart from bottom to top replaced a few pins and checked all the forks replaced the one but something still locking me out there is allot of left to right slop witch i don't know if that will affect me cause im not getting enough motion for second. Yeah i manually shifted it on the ground and in the car thing is i don't know which gear is where because you can pull it up, down, left and right so I'm so lost also something i was wondering, the little fork that bolts to the tranny to pull it up and down I notice there's a little ear on the bracket goes under or inside something i don't know if i got it in there right or not. Appreciate your reply thanks hopefully I can fix this

Ok i found the white peice that fell off and got it on there the right way LOL ok now i got it into 1st gear and let the clutch out it moved the i went to second and it grinds then tried going back to first and it acts like its not there so 2nd grinds 3rd grinds 4th goes in and 5 goes in and still no reverse im getting so agitated at this car my first dsm and already has me going crazy. Also about an hour ago i got it into 3rd and i drove down the road and i shifted 4th on the way back and couldnt get it back into 3rd and my clutch just fell to the floor so i pulled it up to the top and it went back to normal then feel right back down. Whats the chances that my slave has gone hay wire?
