The horsecock one is for automatics..I had a stock 1g shifter laying around..But I don't know where its at now..

Actually the long shifter came in almost all of my friend's 1gs 5 speeds.

I heard the short 1g shift knob was a option. I wish we had a brochure we could confirm this with. It's just something I'd find interesting.

I concur. My 91 GS 5 speed came with the tall shift knob as well. I found a short on at a junkyrad though and switched it.

A tall shift knob or the horsecock shifter..The question is for both of you..

Both my 1gs have had the tall shift knob but I grabbed the short 2g from a wrecker and it's so much nicer.

One in the same. Why would we be talking about an automatic gear selector on a thread called "OEM Shift Knob".

The tall 1g manual shift knob is commonly referred to as a horsecock due its size. Check out this thread for more info: http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75169

Cause the horse #### shifter is an oem shifter, for the auto's.. But I had a 5 speed one sitting around at some point..

Did they make two different 5speed shifter knobs? One tall and one short?

Yes there were two different 1g manual shift knobs. The short one and the tall one (aka horsecock shift knob). Shift knob = manual shifter. Tall 1g shift knob = horsecock shifter.
