greddy shift knob install

I was at the junk yard lookin for a clutch line (goin with ss braided) and I found a greddy ball type shift knob. Theres a good size gap between the knob and the shit boot. How can I fix that?

I would rather keep the shifter the same length because I had a weighed knob on it before so now using a much lighter knob and shorting it would be too much

pull the boot off and make a collar to go under it and hold the top up... simple. a hose clamp would do the job
