1g FWD Turbo back!

Whats up guys? Im tryin to find a 3 inch FWD Turbo back for a 93 Eclipse, Im having no luck? i dont kno if im looking in the wrong spots or what, but ive looked at Bushurracing.com and a lil on here, and on Ebay and all i can find are 2.5 inch Cat-backs

You may wanna just buy the components (muffler, cat, etc) and have a shop make you one... hollow pipe is hollow pipe unless its the difference between regular or stainless. A shop should be able to do it for you cheap.

I looked for quite a while for my '92 TSi. I finally had my mind made up that I was going to build my own custom 2.5" system by taking a 2G system and flipping it, when I came across a local guy selling a used complete turbo-back Thermal R&D 3" system on eBay for $300. It's still on the car to this day.

Look for a Thermal Research and Development setup. They are S/S and have the deepest sound (since ATR is no longer around). Check it out here:

They're a little on the pricey side ($600) but you get what you pay for! No thin crappy tubing, press bends, or cheapo china muffler!

Thanks guys for all the info, The guy im gettin the GS-T from said the he has a Down Pipe so thats a plus, But i was thinking about taking it to a shop and having them make one, but they will have to put a Cat on there and i dont really want one, i called them and asked, i said that i had a test pipe and he said he wouldnt touch that, and that he will have to put a catt on there, so if i can find the whole set-up then that would be cool

The web site u guys linked are great, I Found some that im interested in, I have a 3 inch AWD Stainless Turbo back ( Willing to sell or trade) and that wasnt that hard to find , But for this FWD is kind of a pain, Thanks again guys for the help, Ill post on this tread once i find more,

i just bought a FWD 3" megan downpipse, a muffler, three 3"flanges and got a muffler shop to weld the rest. It cost me all about $400 in total. I got the flanges so i could take it apart when ever i feel like it.

So While im looking into exhaust do you think an 02 housing with an atmosphere bump

would be worth getting or should i just stick with evo 3 02 housing and have it ported? I mean they look cool as F**k but lil costly

just port the stock one for free. If you were running a bigger turbo then i'd do a 02 dump

Evo III. That way you can run the stock O2 housing heat shield and make your alternator(s) last much longer.

i was having the same problem everywhere i looked was for an awd, but i found a good cheaper answer if you want to make a trip to des moines, if you want to buy the muffler and cat/pipe there is a shop here in des moines called wrenches automotive, they specialize in honda/acura and imports the owner has a bad ass gsx fully built bored over just pure bliss, anyway i called them yesturday and for a 3 inch cat back mandrel bent custom exhaust is 200 installed and yes i double checked that price and its legit, so for a turbo back your lookin at 300 max for a full 3 inch custom mandrel bent exhaust, im getting one for sure, and they guarantee all there work

Crazy price from the guy with the gsx, I was also having problems finding a cheap turbo back for my fwd, so I ended up buying a fwd megan racing downpipe from ebay for $100 and bought a 3in-3out ebay muffler for $40 and just dump it under the car, it's not too loud because I got a chambered muffler instead of a straight through, only bad thing is I don't have AC and when I'm sitting at stop lights with the windows down it can get pretty fumy.

As for the turbo back.....
got mine from slow boy racing.. VRS Perfromance!!

Kindof pricy but i needed an exhaust as for my car is being build, swapping a 90 6 bolt into a 93 DL!
The exhaust would work what so ever and needed to get one! Cars not done so cant give any good words on it but the ones ive heard!
Ive heard it gives a great performance boost and the sound is a deep mellow sould!

and the o2 housing with dump is AWESOME can hear the turbo spool louder!!! COOL and a good upgrade!

And 3" is BIG!

It looks to be that way, Dejon has their piping kit for a fwd also...might want to check into that.

Thanks guys for all the great Info, but the guy sold the gst, SO im goin to put my 6 bolt back 2gather with some extra goodies and get my all wheel back up and running
