I've been researching an I want a definitive answer for this because its driving me nuts:cry:. I have the 1g CAS installed and I've been having all types of codes and idling issue with the car. Now my question is if I use the 1g CAS and a 98 ECU will I need to swap out the pins for the ecu harness???

ALSO:
1. will the 98 ecu be like an easy fix for all this until i get dsm link?
2. Do I really need a blacktop CAS?
3.I have a 95 and a 97 ECU which is the best to use?

I have read RRE and Magnus write-up a bunch of times so this is just to reinforce what I've already researched.

Hey there hopefully I can help, as I've been dealing with this stuff lately.

First off, how many different ECU's do you have?

1. IDK what you're asking...but the 1G CAS & 98 ECU will be fine together.

2. You do not need the blacktop CAS. It's nice to have because it compliments the bay (in my opinion) and some people run it because it is a little higher resolution. All the 1G CAS' are the say in way of FUNCTION though.

3. Use the 97-99 ECU so you don't have to deal with the CAS inversion. The 95/96 ECU's expect an inverted (opposite) signal than the 89-94 & 97-99 CAS' puts out.

If you wired in the 1G CAS correctly to the 97-99 ECU, you would not have to mess with spark plug wires or the injector signal wires at the ECU harness. MAKE SURE that when you installed the CAS, that it's not 180 out. The spark will be fine this way, but the injectors will fire at the wrong time. RRE shows this: RRE Instructions

Did you check to see if your 95 ECU was EPROM?
