Alright, here's a little background on my situation: I have a 1G 7bolt that is going into my 2G GSX, all forged internals, blah, blah, the works. OKay, so I go to work on the timing belt today and realize that it doesn't look like my oil pump gear, tensioner, and tensioner pulley bracket will work that came off of my 2G 7bolt. So, do I need to order the appropriate 1G 7bolt timing parts, or am I missing something here?

Your going to need a new tensioner and tensioner arm, and I think you will need a new cranksprocket as the timing mark is in a different spot. I know the 6 bolt and 2g 7 bolt's have different crank sprockets, I'm not sure if the 1g 7 bolt sprocket would use the same gear as the 2g 7 bolt? Someone will have to help out on that one.

If you took your balance shafts out, you can use the 2g oil pump sprocket. The only difference is the timine marks, but you dont need to time your oil pump if that balance shafts are out. I put my 2g oil pump sprocket onto a 1g pump and it clears the front case fine, so I'm going to just use the 2g one.

Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it. Can anyone tell me for sure whether or not I have to use a 1G 7bolt crank sprocket or not?
