1g 7bolt or 2g 7bolt

i just purchased an engine and it a 7bolt supposed to be 1g because it say it fits 90-94 eclipse so thats why im guessing it 1g.my questions is can there be a way to tell the difference between a 1g 7bolt and a 2g seven bolt.the engine is going in a 1992 eclipse 6bolt im pretty sure everything just bolts up if it is a 1g 7bolt right

i guess my real question is will this 7bolt engine fit my 6bolt tranny and what about the motor mounts will they work?

The engine will bolt up to the trans, however are you manual or Automatic? If Manual, you'll need a 7bolt Flywheel, If auto, The only way to tell is unbolt the Flexplate from the NEW/USED engine and make sure the 3 Bolt holes on it, line up with your torque convertor, if so your Good, if not, two option's, get the correct 7bolt Flex plate, or re-drill the holes on the Flexplate. Flexplate is made outta Springsteel and is really strong- have sharpened drill bits ready!! Good Luck

yeah i just ended up taking the engine back since none of the engine mounts would have lined up.i just brought a whole car cheap its a 1990 talon with a turbo 4g63 so now ive heard im going to change out some sensors anybody know with ones?

sorry forgot to say the engine is out and disassembled and its brining all arp hardware and a comistic head gasket all the block and head have all been machined and ready to be assemble so im just gonna put it in the 1992 eclipse aut.what sensors will i need since this engine is from a 1990

coil assembly off the 92, complete with transistor,etc... TPS? i think or TB as a whole? can't remember, 90's are very specific. oil coolers, filter housing different also on GSX perhaps GST same? everything else same i think?... im sure others will chime in.

Heres a quick question. After reading up on both 1g and 2 g motor swaps im awar of some of the pros and cons of both but here the deal. I just sold my 312 hp 97 eclipse spyder which i bout with 280hp already on it. Im looking at buying another one this week. 2 choices. 1. is a 95 with a 1g motor swap mainly stock with only filter and fmic front mount and 20 g turbo. 2. a 98 with your average 40.000 mile 7 bolt stock. Pros on both is thats they have less then 100.000 miles on them, but the 1g has been sitting for a month due to a craked timing belt which is being replaced today. Which is the best option to go for? Im not a techy guy i just want the engine with less probs more airflow and the best bolt on options. I also just bought a 16g ported turbo so let me know what you guys think is the best option. My mind has to be made up in 1 day. Thanks.

yea it has a 2g engine mount but a 1g ac belt tensioner, odd combo
