So I wanted some opinions on my cam timing marks (how they are positioned in the picture). Just completed my BSE and Timing belt replacement on my 95 talon.

I marked my old belt and sprockets before removal. And transferred marks to my gates blue belt and counted teeth on bolt belts. I am wondering

If with the other timing mark lined up if my cam sprockets marks in the picture are acceptable or do I need a do over?

Thanks in advance

They should be lined up perfectly horizontal. It can be a little difficult to see sometimes with the angle you can look at, but you should re-do those. Your exhaust Cam looks nearly perfect but your intake one is slightly off. Typically when you tighten the belt back on the, the exhaust cam will rotate counter clockwise a tooth.

Set your intake Cam perfectly at 9 o'clock, than hold your exhaust cam with 17mm sprocket one tooth lower. Put your belt on and tighten up the auto tensioner. When you do so the exhaust cam should rotate back up, aligning perfectly with your intake cam.

your dowel pins do nit look like they are top and center. With the belt as it is, move the exhaust cam counter-clockwise until they marks are aligned. then check your crank mark. Bet you will be dead on.

Moved the exhaust cam down clock wise 1 tooth marks line up perfect. Problem solved.
Now on to install my VRSF FMIC and hopefully back in business crushing $100k+ exotics. Thanks fellas.
