Got this ECU out of my old parts car. IC106 burned, I'm assuming it's only responsible for boost control function and should not affect anything else, right?

There is a booster wire in the back of the board that is broken under 106 (I assume ECMtunning soldered it to power the ic106) but I am not sure. What would even be the point of having 106 if they converted the whole ECU to DSMLink v3?

Could it be that the board passes power through one of the pins under 106 and since it burned, ECMtuning just used a booster wire to jump power to a particular pin under it, bypassing and not fixing 106 since it's pretty useless? And the only reason for the booster wire is to power another part of some other circuits?

Geek squad, it's time to shine. Who got the knowledge??!

This is about all I know about it, and I'm hoping you have seen this page already.
"IC106 controls ECU pin 57, Fuel Pressure Solenoid (FPS), and ECU pin 105, Boost Control Solenoid (BCS)."
I guess you could trace the circuit back and see what the jumper wire is doing/where it's going. Maybe only half of 106 was burned, and they opted to make, likely the bcs work, rather than replacing the no longer available (except from a doner ECU) driver chip. This is purely speculation though.

IC106 is for the Wastegate (Boost Control) and Fuel Pressure solenoids.

Is that wire loose in you first picture and you've connected it in the last or the other way around? I'd have to look at a 90 ECU to be sure of where the wire is connected to but I'm expecting it goes to ECU pin 105 and if so it would connect to IC106 pin 1. I'll check when I next go in the basement, I don't have a 90 ECU upstairs.

The M5269L Driver pins are:
1 Output 1
2 Drive Voltage
3 Input 1
4 GND
5 Vcc
6 Input 2
7 Output 2
8 Clamp Diode

I doubt ECMTuning would have connected the driver back up to the edge connector and left the driver blown.

Yes, sir. That first picture the wire is off and not connecting to anything. I pulled the wire straight and it looks like it is going to pin 1 of 106. I can solder it back in, it's not an issue just gotta swing by to harbor freight for a magnifying glass or something so I can see everything. I had to use my phone to zoom.

It will be really hard for me to trace the board and try to figure out what was being jumped because my eyesight is pretty bad. I was just hoping someone on here is knowledged enough in electric circuits on 1st gen DSMs. I am not sure as well if the ECMtuning had anything to do with it just speculating . I'll probably put liquid tape on that loose end so it doesn't arc anything, let it dry and connect the ECU to my running car and see what live data is not being monitored, maybe check for trouble codes. Probably best way .

Thanks everyone for the help.
