Ok, so my friend and I wanna swap a 6 blot into a 99 Eclipse convertiable with a 2.4lt. in it. I wanna know how to do it, or if anybody has done it. Also while were in their were gonna convert his car from auto to stick. Just wanna know if anybody has done it and what is needed to do it. website links will be very helpfull thanx!:hmm:

the 4g63 will bolt right in.your just swaping a sohc 4g64 for a dohc 4g63. your also going to need a manual harness to replace the auto harmess.

The reason for this swap is the 4g64 motor blew. The connecting rod studs failed sent the bottom piece thru the oil pan. Then the connecting rod lodged it self in the oil pump screw in the back of the motor, that cause the timing gear on the oil pump to fail as well. Luckily the head was unharmed from all of this happening. Also he wants to do it and I'm just the brains behind it.

If the block was good we were gonna put a 6bolt head on but as stated it blew. :D

So the wiring harness, does it matter if we use a convertable gst or non convertable?:hmm:

thanx for the help!:hellyeah:
