1997 eclipse sr conversion to eclipse gt?

what do you guys think its still going to have the all the suspension an stuff of the rs but engin body interior and stuff is going to change any ideas?

well this is possible i have seen someone put a v6 gt motor in a 2g.

and i didnt change anything in the car for the engine to go in it took about two hours to get it to go in then and i looked it up its a non turbo 4g63 engine and its sitting there perfectly fine and it was running ill post some pictures now

Nobody in this world could swap a 4g63 into a 420a engine bay in 2 hours. You are very confused or you mechanic is a ####ing idiot and you need to get you car back now. I think he just took the 420a out of a gs and dropped it in, then threw a 2.4 valve cover one it to make you feel better.

i was there the whole time he did it maybe it isnt a 4g63 i just put pics up of the new engine idk hardly anything about engines honestly im learning the 420a is what came out of my rs and he was working on it before i got to his house and hes not a idiot hes being doing engine swaps since he was fifteen bud and he does it for a living

i must of been stoned when i read this! i should of caught the 2 hour swap even 12 hours. OP like i said before your mechanic got a motor out of a gs which is the same as an rs besides a few electrical things. just so you know you have a base model, rs, gs, gst, gsx and spyders for a 2g eclipse which is 95-99. i think there is six generations now? thats why we call these 2g's because its the second generation eclipse that was made.

The motor you posted did not come out of a gst. A gs-t has a turbo 4g63.

Your donor car was not a GST. Thats all there is to it. Did anybody consider this donor car just had badges added or had a GST hatch with a GST badge because it was formerly wrecked? Eiher way 420a was in a rs/gs and that motor is a 420a. That's the end of the story as I see it.

no it was a older guy that drove a semi tire flew off hit the driver side and messed it up but oh well i got one 420a thats in it now with 63,000 and a 420a i will rebuild with some horsepower

that would be one hell of an acomplishment to put down 300+ whp from a 420a motor id love to see the dyno chart on that one. if you want power id go turbo or sell it and get a GST or GSX.

Correction. There are only 4 generation of the Eclipse. What you mentioned was the available trim.
