I'm looking to buy a Turbo back exhaust for a 97' GSX Auto. The car is a daily driver and will eventually see high hp numbers as it can while being streetable. The car will be built in stages of horspower and it wont see a big build all at once. So, I want to make sure I get the best turbo back pre made exhaust i can buy. I looked at a company called VRS and it looked like a very nice exhaust but I wanted to see if there were better options before buying it.
Next thing I need to know is if I should go 2.5 inch or 3 inch? How much power can be made on 2.5 inch? 500whp is a possible end goal and I dont want to ever switch the exhaust out after buying this one.
Next thing the exhaust needs to do is be as quiet as possible while helping get to the power goal. Not trying to wake the neighbors.
Thanks, sorry for being a noob.

It really works out great since it comes with that adapter to go onto the stock cat. Now on a serious note: the 2 resonators should make this exhaust a bit quieter than the MR Catback right? Im sorry if it seems like im hijacking but will help with anyone trying to decide b/t this exhaust and another.
for the o2 sensor?
with a 2.5" dp. The backpressure in the exhaust is proportional to the length of the exhaust at that size, so having 10 feet of 3" and 3 feet of 2.5" is much better than 13 feet of 2.5". I agree that full 3" should have less backpressure, but "defeats the purpose" is overly critical. If you're pushing 400whp, you'd definitely want a full 3", but if you're more like 300hp, I'm not sure if you'll see much of a performance hit with the 2.5" dp+flex. And the G-Power exhaust bolts on perfectly, requires no welding, and costs $299 shipped. And all of them have the cheezy 4"-5" tips (my opinion, folks
