sense im still on probation im gonna start my thread here and link it once im off probation, heres some pics of the car before when i first got it and im tearing it down now, want to remove the engine and tranny and see how the internals look, see if anything needs replaced and i gotta replace the throw out bearing and probably clutch even though the last owner said he just replaced the clutch but if that was true then whys the throw out bearing rattling. ive found that the last owner had no idea on wiring thats for sure, i seen all kinds of a mess so far. heres my list of things done to the car already, he did keep a pretty good record on parts and receipts so i believe it to be true. once i get the engine out and on a stand i can find out if the internals are what he says they are. so far everythings there he said was and i can tell the engine was pulled out and i believe this car was an automatic and was swapped over due to it still having the auto tranmission wiring. i gotta drop the exhaust, axles and pull the mounts and shes out, here it is before and now. the paint job on the engine and sc was horrible, another reason im pulling it out, she runs good i just got some upgraded parts and want to repair all the wiring done to it and anything else i notice like leaks and rubbed wiring. not to mention its dirty in there

LOL i just wanted a place to bullshit around. ask questions and get needed info. im not here to make people like my car, if they do thats great, if not thats ok to, and yeah if you want to come check it out sometime thats cool with me, its in parts right now but its all there LOL

i wish i had knew they made an awd eclipse before i got this one though, but i got it now and to much into it to stop now LOL, im going to give this car to my oldest son in a few years so i got time to get it perfect. the cars getting gutted and everything thats dirty or leaking or broken is getting replaced, going to tuck the wires, repair the body kit and repaint the car, all engine parts will be cerakoted also

Sounds like she'll be as good as new soon. Keep us updated

will do, ill take pics of everything i do, thanks to all that like it. and thanks to all that dont like it and dont say it LOL negative comments make no difference, if you have an ugly car but spent alot of hands on time with it then i respect what you have done. i wont shit talk anyones car

Let me know when you get it back together. I wanna see it in action :thumb:

Sure will. Would have had the engine out but forgot my 32mm socket at work. For the axle castle nuts. For some reason i put the car in gear. Got front on stands and try to turn axle nuts and the axles spin loose like the cars not in gear. But i know it is. Can even move the gear selector by hand but it still spins without turning the engine. Im gonna use a bar to the ground between the wheel studs to break it loose just wondered if thats how these cars are or if im doing something wrong

heres some updates, i got the motor out, that was a bi*** LOL. i broke a bracket off trying to move the engine around using a prybar and it snapped off, oh well atleast its a 420 wont be hard to find parts for it LOL

Glad u got it out. I know this axel tip is hindsight but I always pull the ebrake, remove the wheel center cap and brake the axel nut loose while the car is still on the ground. It's much easier this way. Same goes with tightening. Get it all snug and put the car back on the ground. Center cap removed, you can easily torque the axel nut.

not a fan of the blower sticking out the hood, but thats pretty sick. stoked to see build finished.

if it has an open diff, itd still spin in the air.

should see later on about putting the SC on the back, and making a custom intake manifold so itd be hidden under the hood.

either way will be sick :thumb:

im honestly getting ready to add a turbo to the setup and y pipe them together, both running low boot just for looks really and to say i done it LOL, probably will end up taking the sc off it, i got another hood so im not worried about the cut hood, ill use it for target practice LOL, ill probably sell my brackts and charger to someone that wants a sc setup like this or trade for turbo stuff

ok got the engine out and on a stand, flipped it over and removed the pan, everything in this motor still looks brand new. wont have to do anything to the motor which is good, im still gonna remove the head and check out the tops of the pistons and i want to replace the headgasket with a racing head gasket anyways. and new timing belt and water pump while im in there, got to clean all that crap paint off the block to

thats what the previous owner told me, thats why i opened it up, not sure about the pistons but the rods might be factory from what i can see

almost got the engine cleaned up now, and got a new valve cover cause its a paint to clean this shit off LOL, and i picked up a turbo kit just need a turbo timer now and a megasquirt, going to send the block to our local machine shop to get checked out and see what kinda internals it has, if its shit then we go bigger, it really dont cost that much to build these little engines. heres some more new parts and the start of my tuck. gotta figure out what to do with this fuse box, might have to cut the one harness off it and move it and rewire all the wires from it, gonna suck but i cant have it sitting there alone. then i get to clean and sand the engine bay then primer and paint it, lots of work but hopefully worth it when im done
