Alright so we got the 1995 eagle talon tsi awd I was talking about for 200 bucks... things in mint condition, clutch, interior, outside, new tires, perfect rims, almost no rust...This lady let it go for 200 because she was moving and said the car had rod knock...so we took it, and we tried cranking it and it tried to start... we heard minmal ticking and belt squeaks and exhaust pops till it cleared itself out all we heard was belt squeaks... so we swapped the plugs with brand new ones.. they were fowulled and snapped and wrecked... we fired it up first try and it sounded sweet as an angel... So my dad took it up the road and when he shifter the bov went off and all and i almost peed myself because I just got away with such a nice deal... The only problem I have now is getting it to idle... It will start up first crank and idel ruff... It will jump rpms... lightly... you can only notice slightly but the engine sounds good as new when its over 1000 rpms... So is this a sensor thats doing this? It wont idle on its own for very long, itll just bog and die... or it will just sit and keep bubble running... Also, before I go any further with it, can someone please list what fluids, cleanings and precautions i should take before putting on the road...Im gonna do oil, injector cleaner, radiator fluid... I dont know anything else right now for fluids to change... so if anyone can list a bunch of stuff for me to change like specific brands and what not before i put it on the road thatd be a big help... and if anyone has had this idling problem please help me out... its a 1995 eagle talon tsi awd 16v turbo... standard shift... Thanks alot! :talon:

how many miles? Did you check for crankwalk?

Change tranny fluid, diff fluid, oil, radiator fluid, and clean the sidemount intercooler with gasoline.

The idle problem is most likely a boost leak. Do a boost leak test where you spray the corners with soapy water and look for bubbles.

I Had the same proplem bro, in my situation it was the CAS and it could be the same for you, open the cas 10mm bolts then take of the bolt thats in the cas 12mm and move it 180 or till you feel it click... it could be 180 degress off timeing, i did that to my car and my car would idle good and not bog out and die. also check your ignition coils to see if your getting spark... it could be as simple as not getting any spark.... what you do it take the spark plugs out, then using the sparkplug wires use one spark plug.. connect it to the wire then crank the car if it sparks there is spark and do so so on.

if you did a t-belt job: Also the oil pump pulley i belive the bottom pulley to the right you have to keep turning it till it goes backword then its on time, if you just try to lign up the pulley* Bottom right* youl get iregular idle and car will shake, make sure when you get to the top or were the timeing mark is and it moves back then lign it up, if it goes forward its off.
Have any quistion feel free to aim me at: Lefth00k36 or send me a pm i had the exact same proplem but i solved it.

First off congrats on the find. Secondly I think the before mentioned points of possible problems maybe a little deeper then the acutal problem may be. You are going to have to trouble shoot the car and diagnose it but I wouldn't just yet get into playing with your CAS etc. Start #1 by doing a boost leak test on the car its cheap and will tell you alot about it right off the hop. Next I would proceed to adjust the BISS screw and see if that helps your idling problem before digging any deeper then that.
