After I got back, I noticed that my tires were beginning to wear a bit unevenly on the inside inch or so...toe wear. I knew the bushings were bad, so it was time to replace them. Fun stuff

Little worn out...

Mine are also worn out! Where did you get those bushings?

Car looks amazing! :) So glad you kept with it even after the accidents. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! Yours is looking great as well :)

It looked amazing with the wheels chrome, but now it looks perfect!

I may have a confession to make...I peeled it off for IFO in Tulsa LOL, but thanks! I did take home best paint so that was nice

Bump for clean car and congrats

Thanks man :thumb:

Mine are also worn out! Where did you get those bushings?

I actually don't remember LOL. I bought them years ago and have two boxes of them now for all around the car

September 11, 2013 – Long delay for military, broken lip, s2k cluster, bought M45, twin scroll manifold, ported head etc.

Well, haven't updated this in a while...been at officer training school for the Air Force for the last two months...so here goes

Hit a bad road around Memphis and this happened...

I bought this

Then decided I wanted to change my turbo setup a bit...so bought this

Untitled by Dyesuperman, on Flickr

Also have a 12cm non wastegate holset twin scroll exhaust housing, haven't been home yet

Now I am going to be driving quite a bit over the next few years (1700 miles next week in total) so I figured it was time to purchase my first car to make payments on...this also allows me to have the dsm down for a bit to do the aforementioned upgrades to it.

Oh, and I bought a new lip for the dsm, pics of that soon-ish. It's the rmdsm lookalike

Oh, and another thing LOL. Bought a ported 2g head to run on my spare six bolt. Hope to start getting that motor together soon

to much reading for me, LOL but I went threw it all quickly.. looks like its taken you a while, and all that time has paid off more than once. Sexy car, great build. Looks fast as well. This build gives me light at the end of the tunnel for mine.

one of the best build threads iv seen online. your car is clean as hell man:hellyeah:

Thanks guys! Duper, Kidtsi on here did my harness. He has ads in the freelancer section I believe.

Also, I got bored the other night and made a video. Keep improving my times every time I go out...May go out again this Saturday since the temps are supposed to be lower outside. The new personal best is now an 11.85@121

Nice car. I love the wingless look on the 2gb eclipse. I also over the past year just went wingless and cannot imagine putting the wing back on.

Hey man just wanted to say that you have one inspiring build. I just bought a gsx two weeks ago and man was it beat up but you have given me a ton of ideas. If you have any cosmetic advice to give I'm looking forward to hearing it!

September 28, 2013 – Car shipped to me, brake line fixed, new lip, and wheel curbed somehow -_-

Alright doing a bit of catch up here, so we are going back in time a bit. I got back from training and had my stash of parts posted previously (redjack racing manifold and s2k cluster mainly). The next obstacle was getting my car down to Texas since my wife and I have three vehicles between us. So I ended up having a friend bring it down to me for a fee.

Random person saw it being trailered down to me and posted it on facebook LOL

Car got to me and had a bit of damage unfortunately :/ rear bumper was scuffed up and had a small bit of spyderwebbing, a one of the totes inside the car rubbed a small spot of window tint off of my passenger window, and one of my wheels got curbed somehow :(

Anyhow, we got that all figured out and I went to drive the car to go get it weighed (military reimbursement stuff) and noticed blue fluid under the car...sweet. Super blue brake fluid...which isn't sold anymore. So I finally found the leak and it was the brake line up above the subframe, so out came the subframe.

October 19-November 15, 2013 – New track times (11.75@124 with video), broken lip, and built 6 bolt block purchased

Video of one pass
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLSsEC4usec[/ame]

I was pretty ecstatic about it. Still on the stock block and everything, was spiking pretty high on boost, around 31-32psi (regular MAP headstuds, not cool), but it felt great! Should give me a good baseline for when I get the twin scroll setup in, hoping to achieve these times with less boost on the twin scroll setup

November 30, 2013 – Twin scroll holset setup, -16an radiator setup, fab work, car back running video

Catching up!

Alright, good stuff happened. Legit stuff, the stuff of legends...not really. I just got my new turbo setup put on. And here is how it went...

Right before coming apart

Now this could be a problem...

Now luckily I knew this problem would happen, so I had already purchased a -16an radiator setup :D

This guy was in the way of the lower radiator hose so I ground it down to clear the hose..apparently I didn't take pictures afterwards, but you get the idea
IMG_3838_zpsb141990e.jpg

Little bit of a sidetrack here, but I was told this was a 12cm non wastegated housing -_-
419A00D8-74D3-47D9-A85D-61F15630F151_zpsrncebvmj.jpg

But, back to the radiator stuff. The -an setup I bought used a 6 bolt t-stat housing so here was my solution to prevent extending wires. Notice the location of the heater hose and location of the sensor, I swapped them around. used this hose
579644D9-FD4E-4E9B-A2AD-8F7512B244D6_zpsk2roz6xt.jpg

Alright so all of that worked out, next thing was to get the wastegates ready to go. I swapped around springs and got them set how I wanted

December 8, 2013 – IFO "Best Clean Car," headlight intake, new lugnuts, and 11.6@123 run

Alright, so we are getting close to being caught up now. I got the car back together and all was well. I hit 20psi by 3700 with the new setup (and tons of exhaust leaks you will find out soon) and am running at 27psi right now. The car felt amazing, just as fast as before but much more responsive and on less boost (I was hitting 29-30psi before the switch).

A trip to the track was a must, and why not do it at IFO? Perfect place...but no, I want to show off the new setup too...hmmm...found a solution.

Show

So happy with the new setup. More responsive, same trap at less boost. It's so great! Here is an estimate of the power
1497716_10202540351931249_1208310688_n_zps33106a99.jpg

But anyhow, that was exciting. Hoping to improve that still, as the car has a better tune on it now. And I should have new injectors on the way (running out of fuel right now so can't turn the boost up).

What's that you say? Well, that's an intake duct. Racecar status

And done...you get the idea from the above picture LOL. I haven't got around to fiberglassing it all in yet, but that's the plan. Low beam is still completely functional and IATs have noticeably lowered. I am having an air box made here soon that should lower them even more and really let this mod shine.

Oh, and I bought these at IFO

Great 2g, one of the best out there, show AND go...love the attention to detail you have put into it.

I have to say the mudflaps on that Celica just don't work for me. The rest of the car is great, I get the one-off factor, and they look functional, maybe it's just that car or that color, but I just don't like them.

Didn't you have 'flaps for your car? Did you ever have pics of them installed, maybe I missed them?

Ok I went back and looked some more, it's that shot of the Celica from the rear, the mudflaps obscure the view of the tires and they break up the natural lines of the fenders. That specifically is the problem. Maybe it's different in person but for a rear angle picture those 'flaps are the fly in the ointment.

Nice pics my friend had a Celica all track it was really rare.

Thank ya, yeah this one was insanely clean and had lots of jdm goodies on it. Loved it

Man I love your build, so nice to see a dsm thats proper low and stunning to behold. Major props to you an inspiration for many to follow. Im hoping I can make my 1g look that good

Thanks!

Yeah I can see what you are talking about, they do look a little out of place. And I did have flaps for my car, and after years of not using them I finally put them on :p that comes in a few updates from now

Super nice dude, very inspiring.

Thanks!
