Good day all,

I have a 1992 Plymouth Laser, Base, 1G 1.8L, 4cyl. We have changed both front and rear roll stopper engine mounts and the transmission mount. We have one motor mount left to go. Believe it or not, the engine movement you see in the video was worse than this.
Is this amount of movement normal?
What does everyone else's look like?

I do not remember it moving this much when I first started driving it in 2003. We will be changing the last, top motor mount soon, but we think it will not make that much of a difference. Are there other things we should be checking?

Thank you!

It will move back and forth some. Have you LOOKED at those new roll stops to see if they are doing their job. I wouldn't expect much movement, but I have had solid mounts for quite a while and this may be normal for your car.

Hey,
So we did watch them after the install and there is still some movement. That's why I am asking. We did inspect the new parts before installation and we compared them to the old ones and compared the movement between the two. The old ones were not "terrible" but there was some evidence of dry rot and small surface tears. Is there something I should be looking for that is different than what we may have thought of? I added the picture of the front anti-roll mount after install. It seems, to me anyway, that the engine mount leaves are slightly off-center. That is on as tight as it will go. We ran out of thread on the bolt. Have any thoughts?

That looks pretty normal to me. I what mounts did you install? I have noticed some aftermarket replacemnts seem kinda flimsy depending on brand.
Okay, well that is good to hear. All three that we have replaced have been "anchor" brand. The front left motor mount that is still on our to-do list is a DEA/ Marmon.
