Does my 1992 Mitsubishi Montero have a separate fuse for the fuel pump relay? (I've installed (1) new fuel pump (2) new fuel pump relay, and pump is still not working). HELP

The rectangular box is ONE number off from a 1990 tach filter, which I would bet it is and the condenser (round part) is a typical capacitor for a point style system.
I'm not sure, but I would bet that a point style condenser capacitor is what it needs to RUN, the little box, to show the RPMs correctly.
Here is the 1990 tach filter:

Here is a typical points condenser, which I have never ever check for it's value but they are very common pieces, like these:

Here's a few others from my '90 Montero FSM that might play here.

Fuel pump only primes while cranking, the fact that you have no spark and no fuel pump prime likely means you have no RPM signal to the computer. Does your tach work while cranking? Likely cause is a failed cam sensor in the distributor itself. They're pretty robust and I rarely see failures on the 3.0 motors but it's entirely possible. Rather than firing a parts cannon at everything I'd start with a diag there to see if you're getting a cam signal from it. The 12v 3.0 is a pretty simple engine. Make sure the rotor is spinning in the distributor and then I'd be looking at the signal out.

Great! Can you ship FedEx?
What is your price for both parts?
Please RSVP ASAP.

I am sorry. My parts are not for sale. I was mearly comparing what I have and the components I have seen and used in other cars for the past 45 years to give you an idea what may be an alternate fix. The little tach filter box is hard to find because nobody knew about it and the cars that had them where getting crushed.
My apologies.

Sir:
Thanks for your knowledge and your help. (??) Can I use a different tachometer sensor with a new capacitor?

Ref # 85812B - Noise filter, part number MB488821 (looks to be your two-connector piece)
Ref # 85811B - Noise condenser, part number MB435709 (I’d assume this is the other one you pictured, as it mounts using the same bolt as the two-connector piece)

Donald,
These parts look to be available on eBay and possibly from some of the online Mitsubishi parts suppliers. Why haven't you ordered them if yours are bad?

I'm not sure at this point what problem is to be addressed. Have you tracked down the issue with the fuel pump? Not getting spark could have several causes but I'm not sure at this point that you have a good ECU or that your getting a signal to the coil.

As mentioned the ECU gets it's position information from the CAS inside the distributor, when it thinks it's time to fire the plugs it charges the coil using the power transistor and the cap and rotor route the spark to the correct cylinder like old school ignitions.

Thanks, thanks, THANK YOU All.
I just bought both on eBay.

Thanks to each and every member that took time to help me solve my problem with my 1992 Mitsubishi Montero. Since I'm the original owner (ordered in 1991), this is my Babe that I REFUSE to let go. Again, THANKS!
