Can't seem to find my camera, it's gotta be in one of the moving boxes we put in the basement.

I got my boost leak tester and promptly slapped it on.

Couldn't even build 15 psi initially the BOV was leaking so bad, it appears to be a HKS knockoff. Luckily I had a stock one laying around so I put that on.
Few leaks here and there from the T-Clamps not being fitted perfectly.
The factory BoV is leaking a little, I tried to crush it to see if that would make a difference, it did not, so it must be the seal(starts at ~12psi).

Here it is.

Bolts go thru upper/front holes and spacer w/ rubber into nuts welded into lower radiator support.

Bolts for bottom/back go thru spacer and replace a bolt that normally holds something (control arm) in the front suspension.

Its a good idea to stick your bolts thru your skidplate and configure any spacer and rubber insulator and then weld a large washer to the bolt to hold everything together as one part. Less stuff to misplace and quicker to reassemble during rushed service.

Thanks, mine is two separate pieces, with a whole lot more bolts. No rubber insulators, though that would be a good idea.

Still been too busy to really work on the car, but I did manage to get some time to go rally.

Co-driver for Tom Barton in the RNY Summer Sprint, managed a 3rd in class in his first time driving his RHD EVO IV. Champagne was had!

Sorry for the noise, GoPro's don't have an external microphone that I could have put inside the car.

Decided to tackle the Fuel Pump yesterday.

Everyone always has mean words to say about the Fuel Fitting... Mine was surprisingly easy to undo
Naturally, this being a much used Rally car the only logical conclusion is that someone's already done the hard job of undoing it for the first time.

Fuel looks clean, no debris down there

Looks like there was a Denso 150lph pump installed. Don't know how long its been in use, but I'll be carting it around to races incase the new Walbro 190lph fails.

Potatoe, I know you havn't updated this in a while and I'm fairly certain you're busy at Empire State Performance Rally, but... anychance I can get a pick of the mounting of that roof vent? Been thinking about dropping one into the turd before the next rx event but havn't found many pictures of people using them in the 1gs.
Looks like you guys are 2nd in class atm. Good work! Now what is this evo about on your fb page?

Hey!

Sure I'll get you a picture of the vent mounting later today, it's pretty straight forward.

We -WERE- 3rd in 2WD Overall, but a penalty got waived for someone. Got a trophy for 3rd Open 2wd Heavy, so that's cool!

Here's a picture;

3rd is not bad at all. I hate politics. Well, if nothing else, beats a dnf, right? Glad to see you're enjoying the rally scene even if its not in a dsm.
Thanks for the pic. I was figuring that's where I'm going to have to mount it. Goodbye almost useless dome light! Hello sexy hood vent!

Getting her back in shape... New battery, new 190walbro working great, Downpipe fits great....

Thanks Road Race Engineering!

Good to see you're making progress on the car! When you are you planning to stating running the Talon in Rallies?

If I can find the time I'd like to have it ready for a "shakedown" at the Hyperfest Rally Sprint in June. If not, it should be ready and maybe even repainted for Black River Stages in September.

Might toss in a Euro style rallycross at Pocono Raceway before/after Black River Stages, depending on what the schedule for that event ends up looking like.

I'll watch the Hyperfest entrylist for you and if you come may bring my DSM for rallyrides Saturday and possible spares for you Sunday's rallysprint. Was hoping Brian would volunteer for WV again because he was such a big part last year but entries are good also, or maybe 00 car.

On the roof vent, is there a filter or anything in there? I'm trying to decide what to do on my car with no A/C or vent and bolted in Lexan windows. I RallyX in Tucson and it gets 115+ in the summer months.

There is no filter, but a roof vent would bring in less dust than a cracked window, and it really does flow a lot of air.

You could always make a foam filter fit somehow, and even wet it before each run.

Got my headlights lighting up, and one of them now has the ability to flip up... Guess I'll be winking at people.

Both radiator fans are back in, both exhaust heatshields coated with high temp paint and reinstalled.

My powersteering pump is leaking a little down on the alternator, so I will get on replacing that.

Decided that yesterday was a good day to install my 550cc injectors, as running the 16g with factory injectors was probably not doing anyone any favors.

Everything was going great until a bolt snapped on the returnline inside the fuel rail.

Luckily I had an extra fully assembled head laying around, unfortunately it has the 91+ fuelrail, but in another assorted box of spares there was a 91+ fuel return line, yay. Had a hard time getting the fitting to not leak from the fuel filter and should have probably used new crush washers, but... whatever.

The good news is that start-up, cold idle, and idle were much improved even without adjusting for the injectors. After adjusting the MAFT the car settled much more quickly, though still at a high 1600rpm.

(Will get some pictures later today)

Next up will figuring out a better way to mount the rear mudflaps, and hopefully ordering 6 DMACK Gravel tires.
Edit; And get new spark plugs installed.

It would seem that I finally have all of my air leaks solved.

Took the car down to the gas station to get some fresh 93oct in her, to mix with the stabilized almost 2 year old Colorado 91oct. Going to try to find a decent place to get "cheap" Toluene to mix in for some added safety.

Was running okay at 5psi, was running even better at 14psi. Still need to get bung welded on my DP for the Wideband so I can monitor the A/F.

Won't worry about a tune or dsm-link as long as I'm not dangerously lean or can't get it safe with the MAFT.

Car is nearly ready save for a few things... The plan is now firm: Get to Black River Stages

I've set-up an indiegogo campaign, and while I suspect most of the donations will come from family and friends, anything will help.

I am in the process of getting stickers, and if I can find a good bulk price T-Shirts as a thank you even for the lowest donation. (Though I won't be adding that information until I'm sure I'll get them)

Get a Dane to the Black River Stages rally. | Indiegogo

I fully intend to pay for the entry fee for myself, and am saving more in case my co-driver won't be able to cover his share.
