Apparently my searching skills suck horribly because I'm sure this has been asked before.

But can you use a 16g with the stock o2 housing?? My buddy says it won't be a problem but I feel it would cause a bottleneck effect. Since the opening for the 16g is bigger than the hole on the o2 housing.

Any have a link to this discussion or a confirmation?

The 2g o2 housing will work fine. Thats what i use to run on my car before i got my 20g. but you can always port it for a little better flow.

I ran my 16g for years at 21psi with a ported 2g o2 housing without a problem. If you do port your o2 housing do yourself a favor and buy a good carbide bit. Its no fun trying to port with a cheap bit LOL. Are you running stock exhaust still? I didn't see any exhaust upgrades in your profile. Boost creep is a common problem on internally gated 16g's with full 3" exhaust so you might want to port the turbine housing now before you install it so you won't have to pull it off later when you upgrade your exhaust. Its pretty easy to do and def going to help you now if you don't have the fuel/tuning mods yet to run 20psi safely. Boost creep shouldn't be an issue with stock exhaust but like I said if the turbo is off the car now then why not get it done and over with :thumb:

Boost Creep Turbine Housing Porting

what can u do to prevent the boost creep. ive noticed fuel cut from boost creep on my auto between gears sometimes. i have a internal wastegated 16g with 3 inch exhaust. also no boost controller , straight to the wastegate

you have to port/ smooth out the wastegate entrance in the turbine housing so more air will flow out the wastegate. Check the link i posted a few replies up. You can pull the turbine housing off without having to remove the whole turbo just be careful you don't damage the turbine wheel when sliding the housing off. The porting and removing the turbine housing isnt hard at all though. You can also open up the wastage hole a little bit too but don't go to crazy make sure the flapper door can still cover the entire hole when done porting.
