Here is a good write-up on the procedure so you have an idea of what your in for:

The install kits have changed since the publishing of the guide, but the procedure is the same.

Please make use of the search feature on this site as this is an extremely common topic.

You gotta search man there is ton of info about your questions. Stock internals are fine for 16g. Just make sure you do compression test and leak down test to verify your motors health. The rest will come down to tuning. Head studs is a must for high psi if not you will blow head gasket.

Ok thanks for the replies guys. So i can keep the internals stock or will I have to upgrade them? Also what's the best psi to run it at?
Your stock internals will be fine. I wouldn't run anything over 16 psi as you'll run out of pump on the stock fuel system. I made 264 fwhp in my GST and it's stock internally and haven't had any issues yet.

You really need to do some research on these turbos, all the information is out there and all the questions have been asked.. the t-25 was the smallest dsm turbo that I'm aware of that was offered. then the 13g. then the 14b, followed by the t-28, and then larger then that are the 16g variants. the 13g, 14b, and all 16gs need the 16g style install kit to work however because they use a j-pipe instead of a downfiring compressor housing.

Ok so I'll stick with a 16g kit, and just one more question. Will I need a maft?

Here is another link you can do some research on "more current" tuning options:

Again, the search feature is very helpful.

When searching, you will likely find the 2g consensus for tuning are:
