Hi everybody..

Now ive done research befor this project.. But DSM are new to me. I bought the car a year ago.. Im a Marine so Im not home very much.. Happy New Years by the way.. and I bought this car from a friend for $1300. Eclipse GST, now I know its FWD blah blah whatever.. it'll be my first turbocharaged car. The motor is out.. I am going form a 6-bolt to a 7-bolt... we are putting it in Sunday the 3rd of Jan... Apparently the 1995 Eclipse has some diffrences?? Anyway All the mods I have bought are in my profile.. my main focus is on the turbo/fuel set up. I have all EVO 3.. Exhaust Manifold.. 16g Turbo.. O2 Housing(all ported and the turbo is clipped).. 3" downpipe and exhaust(GReddy Evo2, HKS downpipe).. 1250cc injectors and -8an fuel rail from FIC.. Aeromotive FPR and Wally 250cc Pump.. 272 HKS cams and Greddy Gears and timing system... My question is will this run okay? And will it work with 3" GM MAP and the MAFT Translator? Or will I need ECM Link or GReddy E-Manage?

Thanks for the time..

Sounds like a great setup. Should be fast. I would stick with your stock MAF sensor as it flows more then enough to max out a 16g. But, to control those big injectors and to just have an overall better tune, get LINK. This is just my opinion, but it comes with some past experiences. The GM MAFT setup was not capable of compensating for my 750cc injectors with the 91 octane pump gas we have available here. It made me run too much timing and it would knock because of all the timing it added to compensate for the lower airflow reading.

I sold my GM MAFT setup and bought DSMLINK and a 2G MAF sensor. The car idled just like it use to when I first bought it, and drivability was greatly improved with the LINK 2G MAF sensor setup.

Good Luck

I would keep everything including the 3in Maf. You should order the DSM Link ver 3 for you tuning cause those are some pretty big injectors and they offer it with a translator built in the newer software. They even sell the cable for the gm MAF. Plug and play is the way!

What cam sensor will you be using? 1995? 1G? You will have P0300 Random Misfire MIL's if you try to use the 6-bolt 1G CAS with a stock 1995/96 ECU. A chip or DSMlink is best way to fix that.
Why such big injectors? Are you going to be running E85? 1250's WAY outflow a single 255 pump.

Wow.. really? Even with DSM Link? How about 1050s? I was planning on running 93 octane pump gas.. Its a full 7 Bolt block.. and I have read any TRUE proven fact on the fabled crankwalk so I did the easy motor. Its got the black sensor cover.. I believe thats 2g.

Question, you said you are going from a 6 bolt to a 7 bolt, so all the work should be done as far as the conversion to 6 bolt, from whoever did it previously. (I'm assuming it had a 6 bolt swap and the motor was blown, so you are replacing it?) I think what people are asking is why would you go back? If the conversion was done already then you are undoing everything to go back to the 7 bolt. So maybe some clarification on that would help. As far as crankwalk is concerned, you should check your crankshaft endplay. Mitsubishi has released a thrust washer update/upgrade/fix. Do a little more research on the subject before you make any judgements, the forums are ripe for the picking. And unrelated my 2 best friends are marines, (my friend sgt henry recruited my friend who is now a pfc :tease:) so semper fi.

Correct about the motor. I ordered the motor that was for the cars year. A mistake on my part.. but im happy. I will read the threads again for sure. I appreciate all the help that is provided. Glad to hear about your friends.

if you plan on running 93, i dont think you need 1050cc injectors. stock evo injectors would work. I don't know if you have e85 out in fl there but, if you did, your setup for e85. You also have the eprom ecu which is perfect for dsmlink. I have the same setup but plan on a keydiver setup since I'm to broke to get dsmlink for now. But if you can get dsmlink. I would.
