Alright, i've tried searching but to no avail. I have a 2g i'm working on and I just need to get it running for a while to clean it up and such. I have a clean 13b with no play I want to put on there. Now I was wondering should I use the 1g 13b Exhaust manifold and drill out the corner holes for the studs (2g being 14mm instead of 12mm on the 1g). Or Should I just use my 2g Mani on the 13b even though the input hole on the 13b is much smaller than the output hole on the 2g exhaust mani?

If I ran the 2g mani would that hole difference sent exhaust back into my engine and damage it?

Hes talking about the difference in the outlet of manifold and the inlet on the 13g tubine housing..There is a large difference..

Exactly what i'm asking about. The 13b is off the 1g Auto and I have that stock 1g auto manifold, along with a stock 2g t25 manifold. I'm just wondering should I drill into the 1g manifold so it'll fit over those 14mm studs, or just plop the 2g manifold on it and call it a day? I plan to put on a 16g down the road. But for now this is what I have to work with. Also have all the oil/coolant lines for both a t25 and a 13b.

Congradulations BUD! That's the first post I've seen of yours that was good and informative!!!

God job man!

Anyway, The hot side on a 13g is so restrictive that it won't matter what manifold you use.

If it were me I'd run he 13g manifold with it.. Because, manifolds have a certain "life span" why waste it on a 13g?

Hey I know im late to joining this thread but I just got a 13g thinking it was a real 14b that im putting on my 2g gst. I just ported the 13g hot side to match the gasket of the 2g manifold. I also plan on upgrading to a 16g in the future. If I were u I would just port it and put it on.

Porting is a waste of time as the majority of the exhaust flow entering the housing is being wastegated anyway because the turbo spools so quickly.

A smooth transition is better, keeping velocity up....so using the proper manifold from a 1G auto would be your best bet unless you're doing some creative porting which directs the exhaust flow toward the wastegate hole.

Compare the 13G's turbine housing to a funnel with a small opening at the bottom....doesn't matter how large the top of the funnel is, only a certain amount can exit the funnel at the bottom.
