Yeah I'm reading alot of "it would","it should","easily",but never got around to it.
Making up 3 tenths from 112mph takes alot more than a quicker 1-2 shift. ;)

Yea i know, thats why i then upgraded to a race trans, drag radials, to get my 1/8 where its sopposed to be and also upgraded to bigger injectors and an afc, got a few passes never got to tune it then it blew up. :(

I know that i did not run an 11, you dont have to tell me, but i think it was pretty damn close! and very possible.

I will post the new times in about two weeks atco not open this friday. The car will have a new clutch for sure. Im still not sure if i wanna put the s-afc, and supra side mount. Most likly im goin to take few hundred pounds of the car. We will see what the ####'s are.

Ihatedsm i'll let you and kpeclipse when my brother and I are goin. I you goin to run your car???

I think you should put the damn 14b on, and see what she does. The fastest I've been with a 14b car is 12.8 @104 in a full-weight AWD Talon. Only mods were a clutch, boost controller, and a exhaust. It dyno at 274 fwhp, now i'm building a FWD DOT tire 14b that will go MUCH faster.

I've trapped as high as 113.97mph (on a 16g) and pulled 113mph probally 5 or so times... (finally got the car tuned well at the end of the season:coy:) No 11's. Putting together an 11 second pass is tough. Need a golden launch, perfect shifts and enough MPH. It is possible with the MPH, just need to drive the hell out it. I consider myself a pretty good driver. Even with a 1.68 60' foot, 113mph doesn't do enough (In my case, atleast)

I really need to try some race gas this year:)

I'm sure you can tell the difference, but didn't JDM motors have larger injectors and a B16g standard? If that's not the case and you supplied your own 450cc injectors and 14b, then that's good time:).

No they make a yellow top motor with 510cc and a 16g. But we have a 14b with 450cc injectors. They are hard to come by and even if do find 1 you need the ecu because the U.S.A. ecu wont work with the 510 injectors.

Ihatedsms, you should watch your tone. Your ethug attitude gets you no where with me. This is bench racing at it finest. All I said was go to the track and prove yourself. I have been building a G4202 2G for over two years now. The site owner has even wrenched on it. Does that mean I am going to make 900hp and run single digits. No. If it makes 600hp and runs a 10 I would be happy. You should look around here at the few things I have accomplished. With STOCK stuff mind you.

I don't have any times because I have never done anything with a 14b. I just threw this thing on my 1.6L colt a few weeks ago because I was bored. This car is just a commuter so no need to knock down record times with it. Enough to have fun.

And the number one thing why I would never run those kinds of times with the 14b. I live at 6000ft above sea level. And I race at 5880ft.

So please just prove us wrong and stop the speculation. Awesome job on the car so far. No one has denied your accomplishment. When you hit that 11, then you will have an 11 second car.

I have personally never run an 11. But have a 136mph time slip.

Steven

IIRC, Only a limited amount of JDM motors cames with the yellow tops and big16g. From the Galant RS, factory 240hp. Would be nice if that setup came stock in DSM's:D But most motors are 14b/ 450ccs.

The 510 injectors will work with the USA ecu. I ran my car for several years on "JDM" 510 cc injectors.

I never said my car runs 11s i said i ran 12.2 @ 113 and think i could have easily ran an 11. Its not to much of strech here. I know what MY car was capable of. simply 250lbs out would have done it.

And i never said anything about you or your cars, im sure you have a nasty ride, that will be quite fast, If someone calls me a bench racer when i have been to the track as much as i have that dosent have a sick 14b set up, then who are they to call me a bench racer. Thats the way i see it.

THATS IT THE END.
Im not here to argue and dont want to. You can belive what you want. But like i said before i know what my car was capable of. Its a few tenths of a second, come on now.

Im currently building a full out drag car (2500lbs) stock motor, t4 60-1 powerd, i would like to see how far i can push a stock 6- bolt, i know people have made over 585awhp, ill be happy with 450 to 500. And 10s. My 92 talon race car build - DSMtalk Forums

I said my peace and would like to stomp this grudge. I apologize.

I dont think that the yellow top 510 injectors will not work unless u have dsmlink, s-afc, or some other fuel managment. Correct me if im wrong but the stock ecu and 510cc injectors will not work properly. If anyone has any other input please feel free to let me know.

Thanks LEN!!!

Also I really cant understand why people are bashin other people for sayin what they could run and what they did run at the track. Also this site is for support and knowledge not false info and hating. Thats why I said correct if im wrong, not to creat a dispute or start a argument. For all the haters and basher PLEASE:shhh:

They will work with a stock ecu, BUT this should not be done because, like you said, they won't work PROPERLY. The ecu won't know to compensate for the extra 60cc and you will be running rich. So, yes your are right to say they won't work correctly.

SO true, i also have dozens of 112mph passes with my 16g with 1.6 60ft times and still no 11 sec pass. Just cause we have the mph to run 11's doesn't mean it's EASY like some of these guys are saying.

Well you wernt completly spinning threw 1st gear, and having to granny shift 2nd. cause of a trans problem.
As you can see when you look at my 1/8 (very bad) compared to other people goin low 12s at around 113. and in my vid.
Everyones situation is diff, but mine is completly plauseable. with my circumstances.
You can run a 14.0 at 113, dosent mean you have a slow car.

It all depends on weight, boost, street tires, drag radials fwd, awd.
113 could be an 11 second pass, it also could be a 17.0 second pass.

Thanks for making that a little clearer. I didnt wanna give false info just wanted to make things corrected. :thumb:

Damn i wish you still had your car this way you could break into the 11's with it and stop everyone from hatin.:beatentodeath: Lets hope my brother and I can break the 11's two weeks from now, with less mods and end the dispute.

Even spinning completely in first gear, you pulled a low 1.7 60 foot time, so traction wasn't killing you. Your 1/8th mile trap is higher than mine (I've trapped 91.xx before though)... it's all in the run. I've ran my best for every time and trap, all in diferent runs though. Combine those and that's the 11 second pass, but putting it all together is what makes the pass real. I know most v8 auto cars will do mid 11's with a 113mph trap, and back it up everytime.

Oh and to my other post, I was asking how wide your Slipstreams are and what size tires you run. And bigger pics of your car? I'd love to get a set of slipstreams for "track" wheels.

Wow, some of you guys must be so frustrated. A 1.7 60' and a 113mph, but still not 11's. Thats pretty tough. Tons of other cars would be in 11's no prob. Is it the gearing of the DSM's, or something else that Im missing?

I was going thru some old slips and found my fastest 14b time, it wasnt the 12.5 @ 106 that i thought it was turns out to be 12.465 @ 108.40. :thumb: . not to shabby..

I also went mid 12s on the 14b in my old black talon.

DAMN, that looks mean. Gives it a badass / race look, love it.

You can't go any wider than a 225 tire?

I run 235's on my 17"s. You can go wider too, but the offset is what limits you. Unless you're talking about on his 7" wide wheels, bigger would be pushing it (well comprimising handling abilty, not straight line traction though)

Congrats, nice times on your 14b.

I see that you can at least grab low 12s if you dont make it to 11s.
My car has previously seen a couple really low 12 sec passes at 111mph on the 14b but it took a full effort driving with race gas and lots of timing.

You have to pull as much weight as possible and even the lightest rim/tire combo helps.
That is the point were your searching for anything to lower your time.
If you do reach 11s on 14b id like to see what youd do with a evo316g.
