alright, this whole FWD thing is just getting ridiculous. I've been shooting for 12's all of last year and all of this year and still cant pull it off. I've tried a lot of different tricks. dual stage boost control for one. It helps getting off the line, but i just have it run off a toggle switch (made my on Dual stage with my old BCS) and by the time i hit the switch in second gear, it cost me more time overall because it doesn't come on right as soon as i hit second gear. Also, I finally found out this last time at the track, that i can shift out of third at a little over 5,200 RPM and still pull strong in 4th. I know, i should know this, stock cams and a 14B probably don't do much after 6,200 even. Before this i loved winding(sp?) the crap out it in third since I was coming through the traps at about 104mph at 7,200RPM. Well that was before the 45 shot of nitrous. Now call it suicidal crazyness, but i felt the need to try leaving in third with the nitrous. stock long block turned 8,000 RPM trapping at 108.648 mph. I don't recommend trying this at home or ever doing it again myself for that matter. with a disappointing 13.5 E/T. moral of the story, I need an lsd and a better tranny, or an AWD car.

60' = 2.221 :cry: w/slicks
1/8 ET = 8.998
1/8 MPH = 84.274
E/T= 13.527
MPH= 108.648

revving at about 4500 and slipping the clutch. i did manage a 2.0 that night. the only time i did better than a 2.0 is when i first got the slicks and somehow managed a 1.8.

I would shift around 6500-7k with the Nitrous.

I was until the last run. my last run i shifted early into 4th and hit 13.733 @ 107.457 with another 2.248 60'. that was my second highest MPH. all the other times i shifted into 4th around 6500 and only managed 106 MPH.

race gas mix. 16psi... but nitrous adds another 2 and it likes to spike around 20. I also run open exhaust at the track. I need a better tranny and an LSD. My stock tranny has 192,000 miles on it.

That trap is good for mid 12's all day if you can get that thing to hook!!!

still on 92/93 gas? Not bad at ALL for a 14b.

keep in mind FWD is lighter. but yea, any 12 has been my goal. might have to throw in my HKS 264's.

A two step will net you the sixty footers you want. I was running 2.1-2.3 in the mirage trying to just get a feel for the slicks. Then say screw it and launched it like all the other AWD cars I have owned and raced at the track.

First time off the two step at 4500pm. 1.7 sixty foot. Stock suspension. Granted this was with a half was decent rebuilt tranny and KAAZ. Oh, and the best mod I made to that car was the KAAZ lsd.

a two step or lsd is not in my price range right now, but believe me, i would love both.

find me someone that will trade my 264 cams for a kaaz or quaife and I will. otherwise, cams will be going in.

have u tried leaving the front agx's on setting 1 (softest) and setting the back to full stiff?

yes. didn't really seem to make much difference. seemed worse if anything.

Maybe you can talk to that SRT4 guy around town(the blue one). He runs slicks at the track and hooks like crazy. I don't know what else to say, its either you bog or you spin.

i need an lsd and a good tranny. that is what i need.

How much boost were you running? 108mph seems low with nitrous to me. I ran 105mph with a 14b at 15lbs of boost no nitrous completely stock FWD minus cat back exhaust.

45 shot. note my avatar, that was minus nitrous. Trapped almost 105 on a cooler night.

You simply need more power. 108 in a fwd is mid 13's. You need to be running 115 or so for mid 12's and 120+ for high 11's. I needed 128 to 130 to run mid 11's in a fwd.

Also I don't know what the hell your doing only trapping 108 with nitrous. Is your car knocking? Does it just fall on its face up top? I've never ran nitrous but I'd think 108 is pretty weak if adding nitrous. I ran pretty consistent 120-122 mph traps with no nitrous, race gas, and the 14b. I had very little knock and shifted at 6000rpm's. It would only hold 15-16psi but seemed to pull ok in third and 4th gear. Also stock bottom end is good to 7800-8K, thats no big deal.

I was getting 2-3 count of knock at the top end when it got cooler out. My fuel trims are pretty lean. My stock 450's are killing me. When I try to add more fuel with the translator, the injectors cut out. Also, the Nitrous kit was bought used. I tested it to make sure it work and sprayed fuel and nitrous. Tested it on the street with my low boost setting and noticed a 2psi increase in boost and more power to the butt dyno, but I never tested it in high boost until I went to the track with some race fuel in the tank. Was hard to tell the difference of the nitrous since I was also hitting the high boost switch the same time i hit the nitrous switch. I didn't think a 45 shot was too much but i guess i did expect a little more than a 3MPH gain in the traps.

Depends on how he hooks. 108mph is good for 12s on anything, just depends on traction. If he can nail a 1.7 or 1.8 60 footer that car will be in the 12's no problem. Granted it's much harder.

Girl kinda close to me runs mid 12's at 109 in her srt4 on slicks.
