I had a guy pressure wash the car engines bay since it was dirty and now my 2G DSM won’t start is it likely we got water somewhere where it shouldn’t be and what should we do now?

My Guy and I checked and we don’t see any water anywhere, but maybe this guy is an idiot? Anyone in Arizona willing to make some money want to come out and take a look?
Pretty simple to look down the spark plug holes

Could be something related to being in closed loop causing the car to completely mess up timing.(sorry I’m illiterate when it come to data logs)

This would explain why unhooking the battery causes the car to start afterwards.

Possible the maf is bad, to test that you could unhook the maf when it’s not starting to see if the car starts with the maf unplugged

To my ear that really sounds like not all 4 cylinders are hitting. I'm also just trying to think of the most logical things that could be damaged by a pressure washer especially if not covered. I think injector connectors, MAF and maybe even distributor/plug wires depending on their age/condition. Have you tried popping plugs off the coil end and checking for any evidence of water/corrosion?

Thanks for the reply.

I haven’t yet had the opportunity to do that. It’s been about 110° in Arizona and I’ve been pretty busy with work as well.

I’m also not the most handy with cars so I had Brandon from this forum pull up and he said he thinks some shit has to be rewired and he quoted me $300 but I barely drive this car so I’m not looking to keep dumping several hundred dollars into something that might not fix it.

I don’t know how true that is or if it’s true at all, but to me if the car is running even on a few cylinders shit that’s good enough for me to sell it. I’m good with this. I’m not 26 years old anymore.

I would’ve thought with all these ECM link logs we could easily pinpoint this and be like hey man, you’re injector three is bad or something.

But it’s like we’re all taking guesses. It’s wild out here, luckily I work from home and don’t need this car much or else I’d be screwed.

@donniekak you got any advice? You were an amazing resource when you were in Arizona.
