Tried tig welding a catch can and i couldnt get past the oxide, ruined it. I think my brush was contaminated with carbon.
Bah! 90% of the time I don't clean the aluminum and it welds good.

That looks okay enough I wouldn't complain. Although I'd fill in the dips and grind it again. Other than that looks good

looks good. I like that flange
.Portaband saw FTW. Harbor freight one, it's just really LOUD. REALLY LOUD. Cuts were good but not perfect and the T ended up being a little oblong. You must be logged in to view this image or video. You must be logged in to view this image or video. You must be logged in to view this image or video. You must be logged in to view this image or video.
Fitment is off on one side, but I guess I'll deal with it. Can't really add the metal back together, plus a gap will help me get the full penetration. I wanted to weld it up, but can't do it because I don't have any foil for backpurging.
The fitment on the flange was loose, great! Then after a few tacks it got tight, so I'm sure it will shrink a LOT. Going to need some copper and aluminum to see how much heat I can keep out of this or maybe try some pulse.
To be continued.
