My OEM throw-out bearing is toast. I already recieved my ACT 2600 and XACT Flywheel.

Should I just use the provided ACT Bearing or order a new OEM one. I have heard the ACT's are not that great and are oot metal?

What are your thought's and exspereince?

I think the concensus it to use the OEM. Most shops recommend it, too. I somehow got an NGK (I think) with a kit I bought, years ago, and just threw it in a drawer.

Thanks for the quick responses. A friend of mine told me to go with OEM. I just wanted to make sure.

All ACT clutch kits come with the exact same NSK bearing you will get from the dealer now.

well he says they come with nsk bearings now but my experiences with the old TOB was not a good one. i blew mine up in a million pieces. i wish i had a pic but it was all melted and wasnt even connected on the clutch fork anymore.

hope that helps

my act TOB broke in 2 months.... it was making noise from the day i put it in...brand new TRE trans...lubed up input too

guys I just put in an ACT2600 clutch in my AWD this weekend and the TOB was some off-brand japanese bearing with a metal sleeve. It looked rerally cheap so I bought an OEM one for about 27.00.

Sure isnt NSK.

It seems to be that the ACT tob's with the plastic sleeve (the old ones) are good. I used one of those and I got 2 years of driving out of it, no problem.

The newer ACT tob's have the metal sleeve and they seem to be prone to fail.

If your ACT thow out bearing doesn't have the plastic sleeve, then get a OEM one.
