. . .They are torque to yield for both. They torque at the same amount. Just wondering. Autozoo and un-Advance auto list 2.4 4g64 head bolts as unavailable. But the 7-bolt 2g headbolts they have even in stock. Am I a retard? Arn't 4g64 and 4g63 7bolt TTY headbolts the same thing?

The only reason I can think of them having different part numbers is that they might be different LENGTHS from the 64 head to the 63. But as far as DIAMETER goes, the 7 bolt studs are the ones you want to go with.

Thanx Beef :)

I can't imagine 4g64 deck height would have anything to do with head bolt hole depth. The 4g64 DOHC head is just like the 4g63 head. And would require the same drilled depth for proper clamping force. . . IMHO. I don't mind taking a gamble if the diameter and pitch is the same. That's all I was really after. . . Anyone else with any input?

What about you Misticj???

Wise men know a lot. People who claim to know everything are not wise.

I only post this platitude because I don't know nothing about bolting no heads.

The head bolts are different but when using a 4g63 head, u wanna use bolts for a 4g63 block as the 4g64 bolts are longer and have a different bolt head. :)

^^^^Thank you!!! That makes the most sense and makes the difference in bolt part numbers understandable. Thank you Roast Beef for making me feel much better. Sent the wifey out to get the bolts with the kids :) So I should have a blog update on my N/T build.

So 4g64 guys with stock heads are forked if they want oem head bolts?

Maurice, you're wise enough for everyone here. You've always known what you were talking about. It's getting others to understand you that can be a challenge. Definately NOT YOUR FAULT! Thanx for looking.

(starting from 94 galant)
Galant E56A SOHC & DOHC use the same head bolt part number .

D33A 2nd GEN awd uses the same head bolt part number.

I use a 7 bolt 4g64/1st gen cylinder head for experience purposes.
