Actually my little brother has a full setup for xs power. 50 trim, tubular manifold (same as Megan racing) xs power 38mm ewg, dump tube. We haven't used it to its potential due to new motor but will be wwithin the next few weeks.

well i do plan on boosting at least 22 psi to break 300awhp thats why im VERY unsettled about buying it but i just wana get peoples personal xp with the brand.
but for same price about, i can get a pte 50 trim dsm flanged, used of course but proven. yet it be nice if these parts where reliable.

well another way to look at it i guess is if the turbo fails i can have it rebuild with legit parts...

only thing is about how much whould a rebuild cost and who is good besides PTE?

Look at it this way, 1 in 10 people have good luck with China stuff, 1 in 10 people have bad luck with proven turbos. Which group do you want to be in?

I fully agree that more often than not it's best to go with a name brand part, and in this instance I agree as well, but throwing random BS stats out there to get your point across isn't needed.

Getting an off brand turbo is a crap shoot in my opinion, while you've got quite a better shot at getting a good one from a name brand, not to mention you've likely got yourself some form of a warranty or guarantee on the name brand vs you being SOL with the off brand.

Think of it this way you buy it and it craps out in 500 miles your sol. Now if you have say a PTE or other big name turbo and it craps out in 500 miles. I bet they would warrenty it for the fact of them wanting to see what went wrong with the turbo to avoid it in future.

I posted a thread about ebay turbos. The pay attention to the trim size of the turbine housing, and the housing says a/r is 70 and its not. I personally run an ebay turbo, i wouldnt push it though and i dont expect it to last. Reread the ebay post and check there math on the turbine trim, and see exactly what you are buying. They arent the worst turbo you can buy.

Maybe not the worst, but their reputation proceeds them... Some people get lucky, others, well... sometimes last 5000 miles and it has In-and-Out shaftplay like you wouldn't believe. Can it happen with a good name brand turbo? Yes, but not near as likely. Guess it all depends what you want... A good, dependable turbo that will cost a pretty penny.... or a turbo that might last you a while depending on your luck for cheap.... Invest as you see fit.
