Hey I was wondering who all has done the ss autocrhome or xspower turbo set up? My friend is doing one and he has the kit at his house but i dont know how he plans on hooking it up. It looks like it needs alot of modification work to put it on. Just wondering what you guys think of these and if anyone has one and how they bolted it up.

from what i have herd the bolting it up may not be to hard its when the glue that holds the housing on the turbo goes is what gets ya ROFL

Well see I have heard alot of bad things about these turbo's also and so i have stayed away from them but when i went to the track last time i seen a couple of hondas and one dsm running these turbo kits and were kicking my a$$. Thats why im like wtf and thats how my buddy got sold on buying one. I think i will keep my 16G for the time being and let him kill his car.

There is actually a member here (newlogics) that is doing an entire turbo setup to test the longevity of the products that XS/autochrome makes. You may want to look into that. On the brighter side, the FMIC that I have is wonderful. The turbos, however, is another matter.

Yep. FMICs have a lot simpler design to them...I was considering a front mount from them but went with a JRC instead. I wouldn't trust their turbos though, there's a bit more to them then just aluminum & welds...

Not saying they're bad, since i have no experience with them..I just wouldn't trust them with something as important as turbos after what I've heard about 'em.

Well I guess me and my buddy will be test dummies on this product as its his car and my work. :rocks: We will see how it goes and i will post up our results. Also not all ebay turbo's are bad my buddy has an ebay turbo on his honda and that thing has been running good and strong for a little over a year now. Well im glad its not my car on this test.:D I'll definitely let you guys know how it goes though.:thumb:

Get real, unless you have used one of their newer turbos don't be talkin trash about what you don't know about. Seems like most people here only heard they were bad and never really delt with them. I purchased an Evo III 16-G from them, it is the real thing and has the real numbers on it. It runs great. No complaints. There old turbo's were bad, but they went to a different supplier that has the real Mitsu turbo's. I will agree that there customer service sucks though.

XS Power turbos are the worst turbos ever made. DO NOT waste any of your money on those things. The only good thing about them is watching your freind put one on his car, drive down the street at WOT and, BOOM!!!! LOL LOL Good times.

Turbo XS life - 3 running minutes.

The only good thing about my buddy bolting on a complete kit including fmic for under 800$ onto his CIVIC, Was seeing him eat my buddies GSX all the way down the highway. Oh, He dl'd some tuning program did alittle tuning and went to the track and ran a 13.4 @ 108mph the first time ever racing the car. But yeah, The turbo's must be junk now being he has not had ANY problems, As either did newlogics customer that had purchased the turbo. Stop spreading this information around until YOU, Yes YOU try it. I'm sure you will reply by saying you don't want to or would never waste your money, But then YOU should not be posting the WRONG information. Yes, Maybe their OLD turbo's DID break, But have you tried anything from them latly? Oh, Guess not. K thanks.

i have the turbo on my gst for a couple months now with the RRE oil line and its boosts awesome but after 500 miles the shaft play was horrible and my wastegate had to be adjusted before i installed it. i got their exhaust manifold, o2 housing and fmic kit with piping to and all of that i like.

I recently picked up an XS Power T3/T4 turbo for $288 shipped. I also got a tubular mani. by them for $200 shipped. So for the price of a decent tubular manifold I now have a nice brand new turbo and a good manifold. I will take the chance with the turbo, and if it blows, oh well I learned my lesson. If you take care of your hardware, it should have a decent life, as long as there are no major defects. I would also like to say that all ball bearing turbo's are going tohave some shaft play, that is the nature of the beast, the problem is when that play starts to lead to the wheel meeting the housing.

Im sure they work, a KA 240SX put down over 400hp with a XS setup. But honestly I would stay on my EV03 turbo than go with that kit. I look at quilty and trust brand I know and I will NEVER BUY SOMTHING MORE THAN ONCE! But I will be buying there intercooler its great.

Shaft play on those turbos is not an imminent problem. Break in and installation mishaps contribute to that, as well as surge. I've seen plenty AGP turbos develop shaft play fast too. It doesn't mean much.

That turboXS turbocharger isn't exactly a pinnacle of efficiency, but god damn it's a bang for the buck. Especially considering that very few people actually take the turbo to it's limit of efficiency anyway.

Yeah I see that we needed to do some custom work and we had to rotate the housing so we could hook up the ic piping but so far its looking pretty good. Thanx for the images newlogics it kinda gave a good basis to go by.:thumb:

My friends have tried their new stuff. Its the same crap. The wastegate diaphram came ripped right from the factory. The second wastegate worked for less than 3 passes down the track. He also has a GT30 or something rip off that we have yet to try.

From what I've heard its hit or miss, either you get a good one or you don't. If you get a good one, you're set, if not, sucks for you.

With that said, my MHI Evo III came direct from Mitsubishi with shaft play. I haven't checked it recently, but I hope it magically disappeared. And I also have an XS Power tubular O2 which is working beautifully and cost me only $100, so don't bash all their products.
