wtf.. I touch the gas, 43 counts of knock instantly

Just like it says, as long as my foot touches the gas pedal, I have 43 counts of knock. I can be crusing along, no boost whatsoever, throttle position at like 15-20% and I am knocking like crazy. I am assuming since its showing max knock like this so easily that the sensor just needs replaced?? What are your thoughts guys? Every other aspect of my car is fine its just this is KILLING my timing/power. So what you think, just a bad sensor?

This is what we call phantom knock....try replacing the knock sensor to see if it helps.

Might be PK. But install a new sensor first. Also make sure not to overtight it. (arround 17 ft/lb)

It is located in the back of the block. It is under the intake manifold by the 2nd cyl.

Sounds like the sensor to me, but all check your gas... perhaps you have a bad batch of gas ontop of that. But check the sensor first... though draining the gas refilling with new gas is far easier.

BTW a way to find out it is really bad when you look at the knock sensor or you touch the back of it. You may fell black sustance. If it is soft (melt) it is definitely bad but if it is hard it might be ok....
If I were you. just change it.

Update guys.... I have solved my part throttle knock. SEAFOAM. I ran a half bottle into my intake manifold today and let it burn through. Started driving around and noticed it ran way better. I even stopped feeling it pull timing.

Pulled out my logger and sure enough no more 43 counts of knock. Can you believe that. I just used seafoam b/c I heard good things about it, didnt plan on it solving my knocking issue.
