im getting 43 counts of knock im pretty sure its phantom knock b/c it did the same thing with my old motor so whats the deal with adding race fuel, and is it ok to just take the knock sensor out completly but still leave it conected. somebody help me im about to sell this stupid car :sosad: :cry:
 
Replace your knock sensor. The insulating material is probably gone and it's picking up all kinds of mechanical noise making the ecu think it's knocking.
 
but the knock sensor that is in there is new, and there is no goo coming out of it, is there any way to fool the knock sensor to make it happy LOL b/c the local drags r in less then a month and i need it to run right just for the drags i dont care if it blows up afterwords :thumb: :talon:
 
Not recommended, but this is what you do:

Unscrew the knock sensor from the block, don't disconnect it. Attatch a wire of adequate thickness to the sensor threads and ground it. I suggest you tune with a wideband to make sure your a/f ratio is correct afterward since you will have no way of pulling timing if the engine starts knocking.
 
ok ill try it a buddy of mine told me that the motor i put in it would have a different fuel pressure b/c it was an automatic and my car is a manual is this true and would this be causing alot of my knock problems
