Wrong Headgasket?

I picked up a Felpro head gasket from O'Reilly's (pt# 9627PT) and it looked a bit different from my normal one. Looks like the cylinder seals are bigger. Is this normal or did I get a wrong head gasket? The stock one fits perfectly over the block surface.

And the new one. You can see where the old one had a bit of space between the head gasket 'rings' and on the new one they touch.

Your new head gasket was designed to accommodate a larger bore. It will work but I personally prefer a mls hg that is the correct size for a stock bore

I don't want to go the MLS route since I only had the head decked, not the block. Will the larger HG bore be potentially unsafe compared to the correct bore size? I plan on running up to 28 lbs on a Buschur 20G.

The felpro gaskets are fine. You will need some good headstuds though.

Thats normal on stock bore head gaskets,its like how the stock oem composite head gasket were made for 85mm-85.5mm which is 0.20 overbore

I have the standard ARP headstuds / molylube to go with it. I looked up the part number and it's 3.346" which is 84.9mm so I guess it's correct. It's just not very good for "peace of mind" when the old one looks different, haha.
