i got bad motor mount inserts/bushings, so i bought new prothane ones. anyway im sure for those who know, if its bad enough you get the noise from the engines play, due to the bad mounts, well i got other noise...sounds like something from the axle or so, something rotating to be more general. I'm curious to whether anyone has any tips or any experience on something like this, because prior to takin it to a lift and lifting it up and seeing for myself, jus wanted to see if i can get a head start to what to look for other than the axle and what not.

if sounds like a ticking-poping noise and you can feel it abit while your
turning its more then likely your axle thats cooked???

i have poly mounts never had a problem with noise or anything, the axles sound like a good place to start, have there been any other ad ons to the car recently, how old are the axles?

What does the noise sound like? clicking, popping, grinding, howling? When does it make it? Is is speed dependent(more with speed) or RPM dependent(goes up with rpm, changes when you change gear)? Acceleration, deceleration?
If its rotational and sounds like its from the axle there are a few things it could be, even bearings. A little more info would help a lot.

I damaged 2-3 cv boots with a bad motor mount.

Bad motor mounts can cause damage to the cv axles. Remeber the motor is moving back and forth freely so obviously if you hit it hard you will be applying lots of load to the axle, big no no.

When changing your rear engine mount, you left a tool back there and it's rubbing on your axle. You should probably get that before you loose it.
