ok when lets say i shift from neutral to reverse (a/t of course) my engine lifts up in the back quite a bit, could this be caused by bad motor mounts? maybe something else? im not sure please help though this looks bad

Very well could be bad motor mounts however with stock mounts some engine movement is to be expected. A visual inspection of the two motor mounts (Drivers' side and transmission) and front and rear roll stoppers should tell you if they need replacing.

Look and see if they are torn or splitting. Your engine is going to move a bit with stock motor mounts. That is why they are there, to absorb some movement so it doesn't shake the car.

SORRY, I just realized we're working on a 2G. Damn, I guess I'll leave them up there for a second; Maybe they'll be a help?..

NOTE: Joey, these are not pics of a second gen, but its all I got. Good thing I noticed or I'd of had you really frustrated. Im sure someone would of let me had it for missing that one!
