i got bad motor mounts every time i shift it bogs and shakes the whole car i cant even chirp 2nd any one no of a good brand of mounts and is it safe 2 drive?

It's not gonna hurt anything to drive on bad mounts. You'll just get extra motor movement. When you decide to get them fixed, go with the motor mount inserts. They're made of polyurethane and are pretty inexpensive. They'll make your motor a lot more stiff than it is now. Makes it better for launches in my opinion.

yes and no. you should get it fixed soon. if you have to drive it, drive easy until you get it fixed, and i would not try to chirp any tires in any gear. the problem is when you ruin the tranny mount and the back end/tranny starts to flop around you can damage tranny and axle parts quickly. once you trash 1 mount and let it go, the other mounts will not be far behind.

It's not gonna hurt? I would be paranoid! There are 3 mounts I believe. One next to the alternator, one by the tranny, and one underneath the engine. I wouldn't want to be driving and have it collapse ya know. Just don't get on it and you'll be alright until you have money to fix it.

There are actually 4...

Front and rear and driver and passenger... Like Formontoya said bad motor mounts could potentially cause other problems... Lots of engine movement could effect parts all over... Exhaust, Transmission etc... Easier and cheaper to fix the mounts than other stuff

i wouldnt drive it period with bad mounts, but that's just me. it opens up a huge potential for numerous other issues.

With bad motor mounts you have to think will this hurt anything else? Yes, there is many different parts that can be damaged when the motor is moving.. If you have tight wires or cables this moving of the motor could cause stress on them and break them. Like as stated above it would be alot cheaper to just buy motor mounts then buying other kinds of parts. I wouldn't drive the car if the motor mounts are as bad as you claim they are!!!!

Here is a good brand of mounts that you was asking about.. http://www.machv.com/polmotmoun.html
