Energy Suspension Motor Mounts and Bad Vibration

So I was doing some work to the Talon this winter ... picked up the complete bushing kit from Energy Suspension to include all 4 motor mount inserts. Since install the car feels MUCH tighter and i like it. The one downside I am having is the Vibration is making a insane dash rattle. Its really annoying. My talon is not a DD more of a weekend hobby that goes to the strip when I can make it.

Question ...

If i go back to stock Motor Mounts (inserts) on the sides ... how much of a reduction in vibration can i expect.?

At idle the dash rattle and vibration is really bad ... once i get above 25 or so it goes away but I would like to reduce this if possible. Thanks.

Yes I did a lot of searching and found mixed reviews and opions.

I would rip my dash apart and put dummy tape on every clip and retainer. It's very labour intensive but you know that the dash rattle would be gone permanently

Hmmm ... not a fan of duct tape as a long term fix myself. Any other thoughs .... anyone?

I'd do exactly what you suggested in your OP. The front and rear mounts are the ones really necessary to stop the engine motion during shifts. Those are the ones that improved your shifter feel. Poly side mounts wont really help a thing other than transfer unnecessary vibrations through the chassis. Put your stock side mounts back in. You'll feel an improvement in the vibrations without sacrificing the performance.

btw...oldman had a good point, insulate your dash. It doesn't have to be ghetto rigged with duck tape, thats only one option. Try some deadening mat but be prepared to pay

just remember that rumble is like the car purring

3M makes some very nice double back thick foam tape that I've thought about using just haven't been bothered enough. Dynamat works but eek pricey.

As for the rattles, I've gotten used to it, the rattle in mine is very small in my dash but I also have one in each door sunroof and hatch . I feel after paying for poly mounts, stroking the motor and removing balance shafts I should enjoy the rumble.

Things are going to vibrate. Thats just the way it is. I wouldn't go back to the stock ones. C'mon, its not your daily driver. You could try and tighten things up on your dash and all but its only your week end warrior. I have all my boshings and motor mounts done with coilovers and no balance shafts. This is my daily driver. Its not that bad at all. Yes there is some vibration inside on my dash, A pillar, rear view mirror and side mirrors, my hood, hatch, fog lights and other components but performance has its price. My car is not the fastest out there but it can really take the curves very nice. I say stick with your energy suspension motor mounts and just deal with the slight rattle or fix it. If anything, since its your track car, why don't you upgrade to solid mounts??
