so i started smokin from my exhaust and thought it was a fried ring, but i did a compression test and got 150 150 140 130..and i noticed that oil was leakin from the hotside of my evo3big16g and some of that oil is running throught the exhaust..and im pretty sure thats why its smoking from my ehxaust..but my question is that. i got a 14b for 20buks and was wondering if i install it, would it mess up my tune,.. i previously got tune..and also would the hotside from a 14b fit on a big16g ?...sorry for the long post..thanks in advance

Toss the 14b on, run the same boost level. You'll probably be a little rich but it'll last until you rebuild the 16g.

Ya my To4E I s doing the same thing. The ebay turbos are known for that. Ya put the 14b back on and you shouldnt smoke anymore. Also make sure youre geting oil from the head for your feed line otherwise the 14b will start to smoke b4 too long too.

130 is a bit low for my taste, according to the service manual I have the minimum engine compression pressure is 121 psi and the engine compression pressure difference between each cylinder is a max of 14 psi... The turbo may be what's smoking, but down the road I think you may run into more issues.

would little shaft play cause my car still to smoke..cus i bought the 14b for 20$ and it kinda has shaft play

It should have no in out shaft play, only side to side (which should be very little) since there is no oil. Check to make sure none of the fins are bent or have came in contact with the housings. If they haven't then it should be good to go.

what if i have low compression pistons..becuase i recently rebuilt it with je pistons 8.1:5

A little side to side is okay as long as there has been no contact between the wheel and cover. You may want to take compressor cover off to verify this. Once the oil hits the shaft it will straighten it. Obviously the play shouldnt be excessive. Im kind of curious about the low cylinder as well. Maybe those rings didnt seat properly or something?

You don't take it easy, you have to give it a few good pulls/engine brake often, after a rebuild to seat the rings. Low psi isn't bad as much as a large variance between the cylinders. As long as the compressor wheel hasn't touched the housing, you'll be fine.
