I want some power but t28 alot easier to install. i dont have any fuel mods or anything so what turbo would do a better job @15psi??? and can i bolt on the t28 and im off and driveing my car?

Ok first of all are you on a budget? Yes the t28 will bolt up just like the t25 will. Thats why on FP's website they say its the turbo to trick your momma. :D You should be fine with the stock fuel injectors but I would recommend a 190 lph fuel pump. I have personaly haven't dealt with any t28s but I have heard good things. I have always went with the 14b turbos. What power level you shooting for?

I have figured out three options you could do.

1) Buy a t28 put it on the car along with a 190lph fuel pump (can never be to safe) and boost happy. Buy a datalogger if you want to raise the psi to much.

2) Buy a 14b along with a install kit and a 190lph fuel pump and run 16-18 psi all day. Buy a datalogger to make sure your not knocking ect.

3) Buy a 16g along with a install kit and a 190lph or 255lph (depends on how much boost you want to run ect.) and some 550cc injectors and run 16-20 psi all day. You will need a datalogger with this along with a safc. With race gas on this turbo and a good tune and 20+ psi you should be making some good power. If you go with the 255lph fuel pump you will also need a AFPR.

I am sorry if I have left anything out. Its 4:30am and I am just trying to help you out. :D

Just my .02
but if you are on a budget but looking to make some nice hp...go the 14b route.
You can build a kit from classifieds and ebay pretty easily...and very cost effectively as well
Also, once you do go to the 14b, if you decide that one day you want even more power...the VERY reliable and proven 16g will be bolt on at that point. you can just swap the 14b out and the 16g will drop right in.

if you do decide to go with a 14b(an upgrade that I'm about to do), you will need an install kit just to get it on as well as a logger to make sure the car isnt knocking. To do the upgrade COMPLETELY and have the car pre16g ready you'll need bigger injectors(550-660's), an SAFC, FMIC, fuel pump, and AFPR, as well as a logger.

Just go with a 14b for now because you dont have the fuel system to push 15psi. Also alot of people say anything past 13 is pointless on the stock fuel pump. Not to mention you can find a 14b for 100 bucks and a big t28 runs for 700. Just get a 14b, install kit, boost controller, fuelpump, and a logger and go have some cheap fun and save for your final set up. That set up will only cost you around 325 if you take the used parts route.

Whats a logger??? can i run a 190fuel pump on stock FPR? also would i be able to turn up the boost a little more than 15 with a fuel pump?

A "logger" is short for "Data Logger"

You can run a 190 on a stock FPR.

If your wideband tells you it's ok.

A Big T-28 won't be much faster than a T-25 at 15 psi. Sure, it's a little more efficient, and will hold boost higher in the RPM range, but the real differences come at higher boost levels.

Pocketloggers can be bought new for 150. It will display your timing, airflow, O2 voltages (worthless), etc.

A wideband is a different type of O2 sensor which outputs a 0-5 volt signal as opposed to the 0-1 volt signal of the stock O2 sensor. This allows you to know exactly what A/F ratio your car is running--very useful when adjusting fuel settings.

I hit 28 lbs/min at 15 psi on my old T28. Stock 2nd gen fuel pump also cuts out at about that airflow unfortunately.

im a little new at this stuff and isnt a data logger realy $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

No, but a wideband is.

Whats a wideband?

Whats a good wideband? There are more options than this! This is one option

That's too much / I don't need to tune multiple cars, but I have a PC, does that help? (it does)

But its complicated / How do I use it?

Good post :thumb:

Do you have any airflow numbers for the T-25 for comparison?

Unfortunately I installed my DSMLink after the T28. Highest T25 number I've seen is 24 lbs/min however, with the average being closer around 22.

Ok guys, whare would i connect the pocket logger, and would a 190 fp work good with a stock fpr? and on stock fuel system even with a 190 fp can i run more than 15psi or it aint possible?

1. The 190 fp will work with a stock FPR.

2. The pocketlogger connects to your OBD port next to your right knee.

3. Can't tell. The 2g logger blows in comparison to the 1g datalogger so you can't see IDC or knock. On the (not so) bright side however, you'll hit fuel cut before you max your stock fuel system.

Thanks. That's the comparison I was looking for and it should help the original poster.

(It is so late and I am so bored I'm actually responding to posts within minutes:| )

To the original poster, a general rule of thumb is that 1 lb/min = 10 hp. Obviously this isn't very accurate but you can at least ballpark actual power made. Thus, the 4 lbs/min gain from the T28 actually translates to roughly a 32-48 hp gain.

so a pocket logger for a 2g is useless?
