ok so i drove my car around all week fine, no problems. i drive it to one of my friends, shut it off, come back out like 30 mins later. go to start the car and it wont go into gear. it acts as if im trying to put it into gear without pressing the clutch, even tho the clutch is to the floor. i can get it into gear when te car is off, but when i start the car it tries to pop outta gear. i drive it and its extremely hard to shift into other gears. any suggestions? i have a shep stage 1 and an act 2100, both of which have less than 10k on them.

It could be alot of things. From personal experience i have had all these. First off it is possible that you tranny wasn't properly aligned with the motor and a clutch spring popped out and lodged itself in the pressure plate. Next it could be a bad adjustment on your master cylinder. Reach down the and loosen the lock nut the is on the cylinder closest to your seat and adjust the rod. You will have to turn it in. righty tighty LOL. Next it could be the intermediate shaft in your trans but i doubt it is that.My money is on the master cyl.

Ild first check the clutch fluid level on the master cylinder. If the fluid is low you may have gotten air in the line in which case you will have to bleed the clutch. Also look at the slave cylinder and see if there is any fluid leaking/damage there.

When you're in 1st gear and not moving with the clutch pushed in, you should be able to rev the car past the rpm you shift at without the car trying to roll ahead. If it starts moving your clutch is adjusted wrong. If you can't get it adjusted right and still have a working clutch, your slave cylinder or master cylinder is bad.

im just trying to figure out how you experienced the tranny not being aligned right with the motor. if not aligned right ,i dought you would be able to get a single bellhousing bolt in. let alone , if you read the post completly, he said he has been driving this with no problems, then all of a sudden "this" was his symtoms.
no where did i read in his post that he was putting the trans in the car, had problems aligning it, got it together, now took it for a drive and BAM :beatentodeath:

to the last post, you are correct, this tranny and clutch was put in over a year ago and has never given any problems till now. and the symptoms happened after i turned off my car, let it sit in a driveway for a half hour, then went to start it again. so im leaning towards the master or slave cylinder. im going to check those out this weekend.

As I'm sure you guessed your clutch isn't disengaging, and you should look at the possible causes for that. Here are some things that have caused clutch disengagement issues for me:
- Clutch fluid levels are the first thing to check, as you might have had a slow leak and as the car sat you reached a level where you can no longer disengage the clutch enough to release the load on the transmission. You'd need to find the leak of course, and fix it.
- Bolts working loose on the trans, or something else, leading to the trans moving could also be the cause. Less likely but believe me it does happen. You might have even lost a bolt entirely heh.
- Adjustment of the clutch pedal might do the trick too (not sure if anything in the clutch system can wear out requiring adjustment). However if this does help, it likely indicates something else changed/failed elsewhere so you should still look around.
- Clutch fork broke, or clutch fork pivot has worn down.
- Throwout bearing might have eaten it, as I've had one fall to pieces on me before.
- Slave/Master cylinder failure. Look for leaking fluid around them.
- Air in the clutch line. You could just try bleeding the clutch.

Some of the mechanical failures seem unlikely to me since you said it worked fine up until you parked. I'm leaning towards a leak of fluid.

I would say fluid or if ya bell housing :p, just check it out... also a small vid clip of this be nice

have you noticed any leaking fluid since this started. My Slave cylinder recently went out, and I was having the same issue. Does the clutch have the same pressure on the pedal it had before this? Defiantly check the fluid level, and bleed the lines before you start blaming the bigger stuff.

ended up just bleeding the slave cylinder a few times and it was fixed. there was a small air bubble right at the end of the lines and no fluid came out for a minute. we ended up bleeding all the old fluid out and replacing it anyways but it only needed a little bleed.

UPDATE got a huuuge problem now. where the slave cylinder goes into the transmission is chipped now. and i pulled a black arrow lookin piece out of the chipped area. it looks like it broke off inside the trans. idk what could have caused it. but it looks like i will have to purchase a transmission now. unless shep covers it. seeing that it is a stage 1 shep that was put in less than a year ago
