2g auto wont go into gear when cold

I'm new to the world of auto dsm's. When i start the car in the morning, ~35deg F outside, I shift into drive and the car just sits there. I put it back in park and wait for about a minute and it will shift into gear and drive just fine. I checked the fluid after driving for 10 minutes and it was where it should be. Should i just try to change the fluid, or should i do the filter too? Or could i be looking at the shift solenoid as well?

this happened to me before years ago in a honda. i did flush the fluid and it helped out, but a few months later it did it again. I'm not an expert in trannys so i ended up pulling it and taking it to a shop. they found a bunch of seals and o rings that were dried up and were letting the oil through. long story short, sounds like you need a rebuild on your tranny
