tranny wont go into gear when started

well the other day i was dirving and heard a loud pop noise when i pressed the clutch in and my car would not come out of gear so i could down shit to engine brake so i had my dad come pick me and my car up but it would take off when it was in gear but would not let you shift out or in to other gears so i thought it was the slave cause of it wasent getting presure to the clutch pedel so i fought wit every auto parts store trying to give me the wrong slave then i final got the right one and it stiil dont work i have bleed the lines everything i could thing of and it got some presure back but not like it was before it happen so has this happen to anyone before or can someone tell me how to fix it cause i need my car back badly cause i have already been kicked out of my classes for not showing up cause of it

Sounds like a broken shift fork... Are you able to shift through the gears with the engine off, or is it stuck in a specific gear?? Need a little more info...

it will go in to all gears when off just wont when started sorry forgot to say that the first time

This just happened to me a couple weeks ago. A small piece on my clutch disk broke off, allowing the disk to move freely and not going into gears with the car on, but would go through the gears fine with the car off. I would suggest dropping the trans and looking for the carnage. Good luck, and I had the same problem with getting to college classes, I feel for ya.
