Ok so when my car is running i cant get it into gear.... 2g awd, Its a new rebuilt motor and stock trans, fidanza light weight flywheel, ACT 2900 clutch kit (was installed on another car for about 10 miles and worked flawlessly), shimmed the pivot ball as much as the previous set up was. Basically after dropping the rebuild motor in it now wont find a gear while running, perfect when shut off. I replaced the master and slave, and have tried bleeding it and adjusting it a million times... still cant seem to get it to go.

This may be a little advanced for some but the only way i can manage to half way get the car to move is to adjust the rod on the master so that it blocking the bleeder hole when the pedal is fully up, then i pry the clutch fork away from the slave rod allowing it to come out a little and hold at a farther position on the forks swing path, it will not depress because the bleeder hole is not open to let the pressure back out. anyways with this i get a little more length on my fork motion, the pedal also gets real hard, and i can just find a sweet spot in the pedal stroke, not to far but just enough that it will fall into gear.....

this kinda makes me think the the PP and clutch are releasing at a point but i just cant make the fork go that far from the right position, not my made up one which also makes it so my clutch partially stays disengaged and i cant move very good, tho like i said like this i can get it into gear, but its a very small window on the pedal stroke.

Basically i dont know if it hydraulics still, i want to vacuum bleed it to see if that helps, or if something is wrong with my PP, clutch or flywheel. i have pulled the trans already once but found nothing so i just reinstalled everything and then replaced the master and slave, all that with no fix. i just want to make sure there are no more ideas out there before i pull off the trans again and measure the flywheel step and maybe try a new PP.

If you could follow that and having any input thank you haha.

Did you by chance get a new ACT clutch disc? Their newer style discs don't work with their older style pressure plates. I learned that one the hard way and your symptoms sound a lot like mine.

The clutch disk and PP are from the same package, and a longer rod wont really help, it will basically do what my little pre load trick is doing now, in the end it will hold the fork out farther and lead to thrust bearing failure.

You talk to Tim yet?

So to clarify goes in just fine with car off but not when running? Are your sure flywheel is not warped? A long shot but mine had some funky issues when it was warped. Wouldn't go into gear very easy and grind and slip.

Tim and i are basically down to the idea of pulling trans and taking a look, but flywheel is brand new, but it could be stepped wrong or PP could be hanging up... idk i will be pulling it today

I had the exact same symptoms... I just replaced my master, slave, ss line from master to slave, new flywheel(all act), new disc, new pressure plate, new oem throw out bearing, new throw out bearing clip, new pivot ball, new fork, adjusted master, adjusted clutch switch... NO HELP AT ALL<---------------

From my experience you need to take it all off again, check the tob by pushing the fork to make sure it gets maximum push.
Second check to see if the disc bolts are torque to spec along with the flywheel
Third check to see if your input shaft is loose or not.
Fourth... i can't stress this enough, slowly put the tranny back on and do not miss a step...
Happen to me here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/395057-car-no-gear.html
I never really knew the problem or what caused it. The only thing i did different was install it slowly and carefully, making sure i did not miss a step or put the tranny back on to hard to shake somethings out of place. The other thing I did different was I didn't bleed it when I installed it back on. it just worked perfectly???
