wiseco rings short/damaged?

Was gaping my rings tonight, went 19 and 22, but the 2nd ring came gaped right at 22! out the box. Also one ring was tweaked and had a crack in the center of it. I am going to call wiseco tomorrow and the vendor I bought them from to see what I can do.

Anyone else get rings gaped this big without having to file?! ugh need this before the weekend or I will be stuck

Sometimes you get a set that is 22 or so right out of the box. No biggie. Now a cracked ring is a different story. If your vendor can't get them to you in time for the weekend I have some in stock I can ship today.

Ive gotten some big rings out of the box before.... usually i can work with them but ive had to call Wiseco once about a ring being tooo big.

They tried to tell me my machine shop over bored the block but after speaking with a different person, i was told its common so they sent me a new ring pack.

I am currently talking with wiseco directly, trying to get them by saturday so I can work on it. I am not paying for the new ring set. They took care of me.

don't always blame the ring for being to large or small. As the hone on the cyl wall will always make a difference as well. Depending on the specs you went by when you got it cut/honed mine were in the 10 range for them and had to open them up alot, but that is due to the how much material was removed during the cut/hone job that I had done. ended up at 18 and 22 for mine.
I guess what Im getting at is your piston to wall may be different that the spec that wiseco used...
0.004 per inch of bore is the norm or more for higher boost such as .005 or .006 per inch
