OK I see all these threads of people wiring their fans differently and doing switches..well I did my own tonight.

I took the power wire from my normal fan and tapped it and ran a wire over to the power source for the ac fan. then cut all the wires from the ac fan harness accept for the ground. So I cant really see anything wrong wiht this, but Im sure a 2nd opinion is always best.

Matt,

problem with this is that they're still only going to kick on at X degree (1G is 213, not sure about 2G) so you're only going to cool it down faster. If anything, I'd wire a second fan to be on constantly.

Electrically there's no problem hooking them in parallel as you did and the relay and wires will handle it. It's when you want them to come on is the issue as Coup says. If you have the stock fans with 2 speeds each (4 wires), pm me with how you want them to work and I'll tell you what to do.
(BTW: kick on for 2g is 195 low speed and 221 high speed.)

The cooling fan on my Galant, my brothers 1g GS-T, and his 1g Talon all come on at 196 degrees.

I have had both of my fans wired together for over a year now, and have not had any issues with it.

I ditched my stock fans 2 winters ago and opted for a pair of SPALs. I decided to wire them together because I no longer use my A/C and with my 3.5" thick FMIC, I figured I would need the added cooling of a second radiator fan.

Being that mine are single speed fans (unlike the stockers), they are either ON full speed or OFF at all times. The way I have them wired up, they activate at 210* F.

well I had the second wired to a switch, but it fried the switch in my interior and the whole car went up is smoke..haha coup was in the driver seat. I would like to do that but I dont know what switch to get to handle it or where to put inline fuses.

Whats your guys reccomendation for having the 2nd on a switch? Thanks

I know I could figure this out, but I figure someone who has wired these a bunch of times could do it better. I want both fans to turn on full at 186*, and have a "forced fan" switch in the car that will force them to run on command. How would I wire that up?

I would do the 10* offset using DSMlink.
Forced fan would just be a 12V relay that the switch turns on and off, and the solenoid uses any IGN1 power source and any ground,
wire the stock fan relay to both fans... But how do I make sure it is putting full voltage through with the "initial" fan on temp?
