wiring for alternator. where does it go..

the alternator wont turn on without this wire i just need to know where im supposed to put this on, the alternator or the firewall.

That looks rough.....

I think thats the wire for your power steering pump. Its located on the top. Kicks your idle up for slow speed turning, so your car doesnt die from trying to turn sharp at 3mph.

Im not sure what you mean about the alternator not "turning on", its not a switch, its a generator.

i just think that its the alternertator because when i ground the wire the alternator turns on and when i take it off the alternator turns off. the power steering works fine though.

Your power steering will work fine if that wire is connected or not. Like I said before it just tells the ECU to raise the idle to compensate for the parking lot speed turns.

And I still dont know what you mean by the alternator "turning off and on". Its not a switch.

I believe that the part in your hand connects to a "nipple" looking object right above the alternator. Atleast that's where I connected mine today when I replaced my alt.

It goes to your power steering pump.

Not to Hi-jack your thread I have some similar problems figuring out where some wires go as well.

From the big plug that connects to the alt. there are 2 wires that separate from it; a blue one and a yellow one. At the current moment they aren't connected to anything and I can't for the life of me figure out where they ago. Do these 2 wires explain why after replacing my alt. why the the alt. light on my dash is still on and why my car still continues to die after only running for 5 minutes or so?

Agreed, that goes to a nipple on the top of the ps pump. That has nothing at all to do with the charging system.

And judging by the corrosion on the oil filter, Im guessing it has been a while, huh?
