1G Will Walbro 255HP be sufficient while running E85 and 1200 cc Injectors?

Hey guys, well I have been collecting parts over the past 4 or 5 months so far. I already have my Walbro 255hp in my parts pile, I was planning on running E85 in the car.

My current parts/mods are 255hp pump, Fuel Lab FPR, Magnus 10an fuel rail, Full 6an tank-rail SS fuel line, FIC 1200cc injectors, 2.3L motor, BW S259 (.70 A/R hotside).

That's it pretty much involving the fuel system for now, but a couple days ago I was talking to my buddy and he mentioned that the Wally 255 wouldn't be able to keep up with E85.

Should I go with a full blown dual hanger (didn't really want to unless have to) or possible an inline pump to help the Wally if needed.

* this will be somewhat of a DD during summer months, I have a bike and beater truck on the side as well. I am shooting for the 5-550whp range by the way.

Thanks guys in advance
Zac

If your goal it to make 500-550 HP then you'd need a second pump. Running parallel pumps is better and you can make dual internal pumps rather than going to Fullblown or you could go to a kit methanol kit but inline pumps would work.

So i should start looking into the full blown dual hanger setup then.. Well then if i am going that route, then should I send back my 6an line to get an 8an line or will the 6 be ok..

Stay with the lines, it won't hurt you and again I said that inline pump would work too. Lots of people do inline and you can also make internal parallel instead of spending $400+ on Fullblown or going to methanol kit on pump would easy support 500-550 HP.

sorry about that, did not see the part about the inline and parallel pumps at first, Ok so all in all, if i went with an inline pump along with my wally, i would be fine with E85, and the lines are fine. I just want to make sure because this summer, it's all going together. I want to be positive that it will be consistant, and the correct way to go. Money is not really an issue because i want to do it the right way.

1G AWD gas tanks make fabbing your own parallel in tank setup feasible. I would personally do that if it were an option, as it will provide more flow than an inline setup short of incredible fuel pressures.

It is also possible to stuff a Bosch 044 fuel pump into the 1g fuel tank. Another option is the Denso MKIV Supra fuel pump (Rated at 290lph now).

And having the lower base fuel pressure of a 1g will help when running higher boost pressures.

I realize this is an old thread but is a walbro 255 able to run e85? I was planning on it with mine but it seems like a lot of people are saying that it's not rated for e85. If it is then I'll continue forward with my original plan!

I'd be interested to hear how it held up over the years!
