I am running an EVO316g with this combo. The purpose of this thread is not to see if this equipment is sufficient to run E85....well kind of.

It looks like the GSS342 Walbro 255 is not certified for E85 use but people run it anyways.

Thoughts?

Also, is there anything that is particularly vulnerable to E85 in the area of the fuel pump since I have the pump out at the moment?

I'd rather NOT change anything at all if I can get away with it.

Side note: The sender and pump position are a bit different than a 1g. It all ends up that I use a 2g 255 wally and 1g pump kit due to a different form factor.

Thanks

I would just upgrade to the walbro 450 that's e85 compatible. There is no point to run a 255 and have if fail often. You already have a fuel pressure regulator I assume so it won't run any different other than having more flow. If you choose to not upgrade make sure you change the pre filter to pump those get clogged

They may say 450 is E85 compatable, it's still gonna fail over time. a 255 usually lasts several years of E85 use for me. Get on amazon and buy a cheap knock off and throw it in the trunk as a spare then it'll never fail LOL.

Thanks everyone. So how did it end up failing for you guys? In the middle of a run or not starting or?

Just FYI this car is barely driven. Will driving it more or less tend to help the pump run longer? I was reading about the pump going about 4 years with no issues on other platforms.

I like going into my fuel tank as much as I like doing rear brakes LOL!

Been running E85 on my walbro 450 for awhile now. No hick ups that I can mention. Just make sure you purchase the high pressure one. As I didn’t and I was only limited to 550hp. But now I have purchased the high pressure version and recently made 630hp and the was being conservative
